There was life in the Wrath of kings thread so motivated me to play around with some models,

So lead me to wonder what people are doing with bargain bin minis you get in sales?

Post some pics, here are some ashmen dire boar cavalry and an ashmen chariot.

No idea what they are for... maybe pathfinder?

I don't have pics, but I picked up a bunch of character models from the old Celtos range at my FLGS for like 2 bucks a pop. Figured they'd give me something to do when I'm bored...maybe.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 12 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels

Um.... you can't die if you have unpainted minis. Doesn't matter how much you paid for them. This is the most practical use for them.

This is proven by science.

Ummm..... I use them in games?

Of course, I normally play "generic" rule sets so I can pretty much find a use for any mini.

All my bargain bin purchases have basically been replaced with 3D printed things. But I use almost all of them for RPGs.

Very rarely, if I hate a model, I'll use it as a proxy for another game.

Frostgrave for me....

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Well, I’m hoarding mine and lying to myself that someday I’ll paint them and use them in a some game.
