We'll find out soon enough eh.

I'm still hesitant to back HL stuff after they were caught kitbashing free community stuff released under non-commercial CC licenses and claiming it as original work. Sorry, after the sculptor they subcontracted did that, they of course had no knowledge whatsoever and were just shocked, shocked I tell you when they were contacted and told.

I'll wait and see if anything gets flagged up again this time.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

So the Kronos armour looks close to Saturnine Mk1 Terminator armour. Might be tempted just for that as I want to do an original Space Hulk game with Mk1 armour, but the prices aint cheap for a ten man set!

Pricing for the ten man squad is around $85USD, right?

That doesn't seem...horrible?

Fwiw, that's roughly how much I paid for my first metal 2nd ed style termies back in 1998ish. I remember vividly the sticker shock of seeing the awesome new bigger grey knight metal ones at $10 each.

Ha!

We must be close to the same age...or maybe just the same "Hobby Age".

But yeah, given the pricing of today's world, seeing models in the $8.00 each range just doesn't seem awful.

Maybe it's just that 90's Hobby Nostalgia kicking in?

Probably both! I'm not nostalgic at all for the original turtleback saturnine designs but getting into 40k purposefully at the start of 3rd meant that the hobby veterans at that time talked about the RT stuff frequently so I was aware of it.

Do the bolters seem undersized on those terminators or is it just me? I'm not wanting ridiculously chonky weapons but they seem under proportioned compared with the rest of the model parts.

Now that you mention it, yeah, they seem a tad on the small size.

And that plasmablaster wannabe weapon could use a slight reduction in size, maybe?

Didn't see that one but agree. They should shrink that by about 20% and up the bolters by a similar amount probably otherwise it'll look odd on the tabletop. Since I've started home 3d printing/kitbashing, I'm consistently surprised at how often I have to resize things despite my long-standing interest in "truscale" and professed dislike of hamfisted bobbleheaded Astartes.

Spoiler:

I was posting in the other turtleback thread and decided to catch up on this one and found the project removed and this message in its place. Viewing the actual linked notice, GW took them down.

Talon Mecha HK1 Heavy Armor Paladin resin and STL Heresylab is the subject of an intellectual property dispute and is currently unavailable.
If you are interested in this project, please check back later. Thanks for your patience.

Well... TBH, the Selene Hunters' head bit is true: it looks indeed directly (and badly) copied from a terminator.

Of course, I'm not sure if they have copyrighted that, or even if they can.

August 14, 2020

Well good news , by Mon/Tue the KS should be up again. Don't let your pledge go as we have several new models to show.

I think they're going to be changing the weapon sizes too, as was brought up here - good times!

When I clicked on the thread and got a good look at the offerings, I wondered how long it would take for GW to go on the offensive.

I love the Kronos Paladins. The Hermes are OK. The Selene ones are fine, although the heads, to my mind, would earn a legal letter from GW as they are basically identical to terminators

The Helios ones, though... Their "real" heads are waaaay too close to the crotches. Very weird.

Haha, it seems HL can't do a kickstarter without SOME kind of dispute between them and other parties.
But yeah, I still love their models, my knock off emperor was a great mini to paint and I am going to pick up at least 2 of the minis here (can't decide which yet)
