Lovely layers on both the grey and the green cloaks. This is a really interesting project and it's great to see the old games brought back to life.

The trollslayer is a timeless sculpt, as is the Empire champion. Looking forward to see what you do with them and the rest of the band!

Thanks. The Marauder and Dwarf Ironbreaker are up next. They're half painted already.

That’s wierd on the witch hunter, I guess the previous owner may have stripped it and not cleaned it very well? The Berserker and work breaker came out pretty well imho. Even the skin and gold look good to me

Thanks, yeah the Witch Hunter is a bit of an odd problem. I've seen it before, even had it happen before, although not with ebay purchases, it's a combination of something on the model and the thinness of the paint coming out of my airbrush. I'll strip it back and start again (along with the Trollslayer that came to me undercoated black already) when I get the bottle of cellulose thinners I ordered yesterday. Should solve the problem.

Fixed axe was worth the pic, he looks even more badass now. The new guys are looking cool so far too

The Grey Knights Steel looks a really nice paint, I might have to look that one up. As for the citadel air, I bought Ulthaun Grey and it’s so watery it just stopped being fun to paint! I’ve put a spot of paint on the lids of my dropper bottles to help identify what they are, it sometimes helps to show how glossy or Matt they are too

Nice progress, for the red robes, I’ve enjoyed using Druchi violet to shade red (i think mcmatilla put me on to that one) if you have that instead of crimson.

Is the witch hunter metal? I’ve found some of my old metal minis have quite rough texture in places, though that seems to be another level. It might make quite a nice effect if you go for a brownish leather perhaps?

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Nice progress rob. The gem is really good, and it sounds so simple too. I always find Elves slow progress, lots of fine details I suppose

Nice one, the Shadow Warrior looks great! Only 3 more to do, can’t wait for the group shot at the end! Will you be doing something similar for the bad guys?

He looks dapper, particularly the inner side of his cloak, it’s a nice rich purple. I think I have a few of those same Gobbos and Orcs in my pile somewhere

Great work on the witch hunter! Really cool model and your scheme definitely sits him in the badass monster slayer/Van Helsing vibe. Splotches of colour are really nice and the base choice is smart and subdued.

The blue cloak on the elf swordsman is also impressively smooth for mostly drybrushing - great work!
