Hello

Bayonet & Ricochet Miniatures here.

Doing some market research on future projects. Currently we're working on production of Jousting Knight miniatures. But we're curious if samurai would do well on the market.

Here is some of the stuff we're working on now (WIP). (more here) https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/791321.page#10905921

We would like to know if you think Samurai would sell as a miniature range. Or do you think Knights would sell better then Samurai. Thanks for your time.

I think its too open a question to answer really since there are a lot of factors that come into play.

I've seen Samurai lines appear popular and people talk about them and sell; but as fans/hobbyists we are not always the best to ask when it comes to details on volumes of sales - we only see our own interests and our snippet of the world market. So its very hard to take that info and see if it makes for a viable real market.

Plus when it comes to the market a huge amount hinges not just on the quality of the product, but your marketing system. Both in terms of outreach and in terms of if you're making a game with the models or if you're going for artistic collectors or counts-as/alternate models for another miniature game or even the DnD/RPG market or wargame market etc...

Plus the historical games are a slightly different market - Dakka is quite sci-fi/fantasy focused and a historical market/forum might have a very different market clientele.
