Hey just build my first box of CSM for my iron Warriors army and I’ve got a few questions regarding the kit . It’s my first new era kit so I’m not familiar. Seems lacking compared to the old one I remember. Also scale creep is a thing.

I did one 5man squad with 4 bolters and a h bolter . And the other with pistols and chainswords champ with plas pistol and power axe.

1 . I only have 3 bolters And chainswords left after only haveing 5 models with them shouldn’t I be able to make 10? asking because I have the stupid idea to run a 20man blob of the CCW type.

2. I take it I have to buy havocs to get autocannons

3. Combi weapons as I want to do a mid range squad plasma / combi plas

4.how to make the bolter champion stick out a bit more (spiky pad dude with the blade helm)

Unfortunately it's not a great box for making complete units.

What I did was pick up the Chaos half of Shadowspear (or the new SC box, it's mostly the same contents) since it has a mix of CSM with bolters and chainsword. As well as an autocannon.

Making a full 20 man squad with chainswords is probably going to require getting some bits on ebay or elsewhere.

thanks for the heads up planing on picking up the new SC box as i need oblitarators (they really need there own box ) . looks like im gona need so scour ebay for chainswords / bolt pistols. might grab the shadowspear set for variation.

and who knows how im going to cobble together a couple of lords ( one dakka/deamon smith flavoured ) one as a beat stick to go with the boyz

I think I've still got a load of chainswords left over from a raptors army, possibly bolt pistols too. I'll have a look and if I do you can have them for the price of the p&p.
