Im a long time 40k fan, though i;m been in remission for over 10 years until i recently (re)discovered by passion for and enjoyment of the hobby. Back in the 00s i used to play mainly eldar, Imperial Guard and dwarfs in fantasy. however, most of my old collection is either gone, stuck in the depths of my parents attic or otherwise unusable. Coming back into the hobby i have decided to go with the Ad Mech and have bought and purchased my first units for it, and assembled and painted them (i must say the current paint range feels far superior to what i remember it being like, or maybe my age just means i've got better, not sure).

looking at the free rules bit for 9th (9th? I starting playing at just as 3rd ed came out!!), i can see that the rules have changed massively since i last really played in 2009, both in gameplay and in army construction. I have questions about my planned army list and on what to equip some of my units with as i've not got a great "feel" as to what the stat-lines actually mean anymore in terms of game effect. Should i post them in the army list section or is it a better fit elsewhere?

I live in the south-west of England (Bath area, for those intrested), and once i have a working army list i would be intrested in playing a actual game again.

Remission is a good word to use, as once you're into the hobby you can never truly be certain it won't creep back into your life ahaha.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and several guys in the 40 k list builder section have helped me planned a reasonably effective (in game terms and points cost) 1,000 point list to start started with. Once i have bought, built and played that I bit, I will be expanding once i get a real feel for the game again. trying to find people who are willing and able to play during the current....Unpleasantness is going to be a challenge but im sure I can do it.
