I've just ordered some Republican Romans from Victrix. Looking to get back into historicals after a couple of decades away. I'm not normally a skirmish rules type of guy, but Clash of Spears seems like a good way to get back in with a minimal investment in time and money. Anybody here playing CoS? Comments? Critiques?

I also have these rules, and will have a review of them before the end of the year.

Beware, if you order Victrix Romans, they are on back order for the moment, so may take a bit to get there. I have been waiting a few weeks, but I used a distributor in the US and did not order direct. I am kicking myself for that.

As for the game itself.... it is focused on friction management in the form of fatigue. This is an interesting take for an ancients game to focus on. I think the majority of gamers coming from a Warhammer Ancient Battles background will be happy with it. I can see some others being less than plussed.

Now you tell me, lol. Yeah, ordered from Hobby Bunker cuz I figured it would be faster than ordering from Victrix. Argh. Looks like my transfers that I ordered direct from LBMS will get here first, lol.
