Hey all, I'm pretty new to Age of Sigmar but some online friends of mine are slotting it into biweekly team game night on tabletop simulator. I wanted to give an Ossiarch Bonereapers list centered around Nagash a try, but I have no idea where to start because he's so expensive. Anyone have any suggestions or tips on that front? Here's one I've made up so far:

++ **Pitched Battle** 2,000 (Death - Ossiarch Bonereapers) [1,970pts] ++

+ Leader +

Mortisan Boneshaper [130pts]: General

Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead [880pts]

+ Artillery +

Mortek Crawler [200pts]

Mortek Crawler [200pts]

+ Battleline +

Kavalos Deathriders [180pts]: 5 Kavalos Deathriders, Nadirite Spear and Shield

Kavalos Deathriders [180pts]: 5 Kavalos Deathriders, Nadirite Spear and Shield

Mortek Guard [130pts]: 10 Mortek Guard, Nadirite Blade and Shield, Soulcleaver Greatblade

+ Allegiance +

Allegiance: The Ossiarch Empire

+ Game Options +

Game Type: 2000 Points - Battlehost

+ Malign Sorcery +

Endless Spell: Umbral Spellportal [70pts]

++ Total: [1,970pts] ++

Main worry is that there's not enough board presence, and that the crawlers might not be as important with Nagash able to fulfill a kind of similar role with magic.

This will work to crush all but the most potent of enemies, it will also be extremely unfun to play against. I would not subject someone to this unless I really did not like them.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Well I do hate all of my friends.

Also, really?

I'm as I said very new to AoS (I've played three games), but this list didn't seem all that to me.

Consider that each of the Crawler's 3 shots can target a different enemy 5-wound support hero, allowing it to be extremely efficient in clearing them out. Yet if they try to kill it they risk allowing the Crawler to shoot instant-death at an important model, without them getting to so much as roll a save. And you have two!

Nagash basically deletes an opponent's magic phase because of his bonuses to unbinding, and at the same time has huge bonuses to casting which make it very difficult for the opponent to stop him in return. He is a very durable model in an army of very durable models and has a multi-unit heal every turn. You have additionally provided means for him to summon a portal next to the enemy with one spell, then instant-kill said model with his warscroll spell.

It is far from the worst thing out there though.
