So - how many pots of paint do you own?

96 currently. While some are redundant (I use those so rarely I might as well mix them from other stuff) I might still expand a bit in other colors

I own about three times as many as I let my partner know I own.Fortunately she hasn't discovered that the pull-out keyboard tray on my old computer desk is crammed full of citadel pots.

And she doesn't know about Dakka so I'm safe :-)

God knows, definitely over 200 at a glance.

I’d ballpark around 125. I store my pots on their sides or upside down. If they aren’t sealed well, (Citadel screw tops) the leaking paint makes a seal

A bunch are over 20 years old. Might need a drop of water or medium to refresh, but still useable!

60 or so. Some are dried out for sure. Think I don't even need that many, maybe 10 pots for nids, another 10 for Iron Warriors and the rest is only for small highlights and random gsc cultists. I'm living in two places and lately I've been buying doubles so I don't have to carry same pots around.

A few hundred. And I just bought $60 of colored primer on a sale. Help me.

* Reaper: Bought during Bones I-IV KS, plus their old Learn to Paint Kits, and last year's Black Friday.
* Army Painter: Various sets, and Quickshade Ink Set.
* Secret Weapon Miniatures: Washes.
* Vallejo: Various, from a sale at the FLGS.
* Team Yankee, from MM sales.
* Brush-on primer; Various colors. Best price per oz. and, with a wash, works well for advanced tabletop.
* GW starter set: From a sale from an LGS.

Plus:
* A big plastic bucket of craft paint for terrain
* Set of Liquitex Inks
* Liquitex mediums, flow aid, airbrush medium (used as thinner), matte medium, etc.
* Two garage storage things with the drawers for paints
* No airbrush

Stupid thing is that I barely know how to use the paints. Most of my basecoating and shading is a colored primer followed by a wash.

Loads. I'm not sure of the exact number. It's maybe twice as large, or more, thanks to this year's ReaperCon! (Although I don't really count the Citadel stuff I still have, as I never use it)

Full lines of Scale 75 Fantasy & Games, Vallejo Game Air, Vallejo Model Air, P3, Badger Minitaire, Warcolours. A healthy amount of Vallejo Model Color, handful of Citadel, handful of Reaper Master Series, most of the Army Painter washes, various oils and dry pigments.

Not "all" of them, but definitely a lot.

A crapload, but I've never counted. Gotta be close to 100, give or take a few. Pretty much all Citadel, although I use Vallejo black (because black is black so it doesn't matter whose I use and I like the dropper bottle).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Probably a couple hundred. Most now are 2oz craft paints instead of half-ounce hobby paints.

About 300 or so. Reaper, Vallejo, Citadel, scale 75, army Painter, tamiya, P3, I’m sure I’m forgetting some.

Plus loads of golden and liquitex stuff that is for canvas work, but often gets repurposed to miniatures.

My wife loves paint.

About 50-60 that still work. If we count old, dried out bottles that I still have in a drawer for some reason, it’s more like 100.

Also, do you count Army Painter washes as paints? Bump the number up by about 10 if so.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, I have one of those Army Painter dipping tins full of strong tone, and, for reasons that are embarrassing, a tin of Dark Tone.

Given the frequency & amount I typically paint? Too damned many.
It's well over 100. Alot of GW, some Valleo, some Army Painter, some Reaper, some misc.....

Out of necessity, I literally own a GW store display rack with 1-2 posts in each slot. I am not a store.
On top of that after a local flood, I own an additional pot of every current line paint, glaze, shade and technical they put out until 2019, and every Contrast.

That said, my fave paints are Vallejo, and I own like 25 of them.

139 after checking. Mostly Citadel and Vallejo with a handful of Army Painter paints and washes.

Had a clearout of old stuff I never used a few months ago - probably around 20 or so.

I'd guess less than 100, but still the best part of 100. Sometimes I start a new project, prepare a list of paints to buy and then find I already own some of them but they've barely been touched.

Usually I buy two or three variants of the colour I want, use one of them and the others join the bag of unused paints. There's nothing more annoying than buying a colour online and finding it isn't quite what I was expecting

About 150 different ones,

plus a number of duplicates (bought as part of job lots, bought in error, bought because I lost then found the original & stuff from conquest magazine)

at least a couple date back to when GW first released acrylic paints

Edit: make that about 170, I forgot the Tamiya I use on my scale models they don' mix with my normal acrylic paints (and I know I have some humbrol enamals somewhere, but I wouldn't use them on scale models or minis any more)

I think 6. Always paid to have my armies painted, no one to do it where I live now though. So I have what I need to paint my newest army.

Realised that I hadn't put my own total in... On a count just now, I come in at 275, being a mix of Citadel, Army Painter, Vallejo, AK Interactive, Mig, P3, Coat D'arms, Scale75, and a scattering of Tamiya, craft paints, a few specialty pigments and a couple of other assorted outliers.

Although about 30-40 of those are the Citadel 'bolter shell' screw-top pots that haven't been opened in a while, and so are probably dried solid by now. One day I should check, but I've been putting it off to avoid the pain.

I have around 35 bottles. Also 5 rattlecans. Black, grey, white, purple, blue and orange.

2 white, 2 black, 1 each of red/yellow/purple, 2 oranges, 3 blues, 4 greys, 3 browns, 3 greens, 3 flesh tones, 4 metallics, a couple of washes and varnishes. These are the ones I use for most jobs.

There are a large variety of paints I don't need and rarely use. They get bought for a specific purpose then disposed of afterwards because they won't keep until I next need them.
