As per title to anyone it may interest.

Some minor nods to the new codex in here too.

so their chapter tactics is basicly expert craftsmen combined with whirlwind attack?

not bad, funny thing is I actually pegged that as the best combo to suit their fluff for them so it's nice to know GW agrees with me

and yeah I see they're using "core" a few times for strats. this is proably a nice way to limit the crazy with things like giving double shoot strats to agressors etc

So what is a CORE unit? Is it a new keyword on troops and such?

It could just be "not Gravis, not Phobos"

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

yeah it's a new keyword.

you can see it on the heavy intercessor sheet here

my guess is it'll MOSTLY apply to troops, but certain troops deemed not to be "core" to the army (such as cultists for CSMs, Grots for Orks) won't have that.

another possiability is that for Marines all infantry dreadnoughts and bikes will get the "core" keyword. and other armies will get varied use of core as GW once again tries to weight certain armies towards certain types of deployment while giving chapter tactics to all.

I'm def curious for more info

No considering Heavy Intercessors have it. I'm guessing infantry, and maybe bikes and dreadnoughts will have it. We know that the new lamespeeder doesn't have it, so probably not vehicles.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Could be done to lessen the impact of auras by only having a select amount of units count as 'Core', and thus only they can benefit from aura.

Maybe the sun is setting on the Era of Auras...

There's also the terminology "Battle Tactic Stratagem". I wonder what that's about?

I like how there is no rule to actually prevent the pure Primaries Chapter from fielding an army made up entirely of Firstborn.

Supposedly there's a screen cap from the codex preview (the one where they flipped through it) that says librarians and chaplains can only buff "core" keyword units. Haven't seen an actual screen shot though, so take with large amounts of .
