Hey guys, we're about to buy a Nintendo Switch for our kids (6 and 9 years old). Which Mario game would you recommend to start with?
Odyssey?
New SMB U deluxe?
Paper Mario?
3D All-Stars?

Odyssey for single player and New SMB U Deluxe for multiplayer. This is assuming you don't own the Wii U SMB Deluxe game already.
I would really only recommend 3D All-Stars for nostalgia players. Not that it is bad I just don't think they would enjoy it as much as the newer one.

Odyssey, no question.
New SMBU DX is good if you plan to play with them and help them along though.

If you’re on a budget, Mario vs Rabbids usually goes on sale for a decent price. It’s Mario X-Com with cartoon-y guns, so I’ll leave it up to you if you feel that it’s suitable for kids that age, but the option is out there.

I was a huge fan of Odyssey. I'd say that Zelda Breath of the Wild is absolutely 100% the single best investment for a nintendo switch in terms of enjoyment that you're going to get, but odyssey is an incredibly fun game.

Definitely Odyssey. I'm going to say that it's possibly the best Mario game I've ever played (and I say that as someone that queued up outside a Virgin Megastore at 6am to get the N64 when it was released, and absolutely love Mario 64!)
