I have been able to fit a full company of Scions into a 2000pt list. This is more thematic in my eyes than a Scion-Guard soup.
It will be a custom regiment - The 55th Sherpas. It will be made of 2 detachments - a battalion and a patrol. The battalion (Alpha, Bravo and Delta platoons) will follow the Lambden Lion doctrine whilst the patrol (Charlie Platoon) will follow the Iotan Gorgonnes doctrine.

Battalion (A, B and D platoons - Lambden Lions)

Alpha Platoon (Drop Platoon)
Tempestor Prime
Rod of Command, Keys to the Armoury, Kurov's Aquilla

10 Scions
Plasma pistol, 4 Plasma Guns

10 Scions
Plasma pistol, 4 Plasma Guns

10 Scions
Plasma pistol, 4 Plasma Guns

Bravo Platoon (Mech Platoon)
Tempestor Prime
Rod of Command, Master of Command, Laurels of Command

10 Scions
Plasma pistol

10 Scions
Plasma pistol

9 Scions
Plasma pistol

Taurox Prime
Gattling Cannon, 2 hotshot vollyguns, stormbolter

Taurox Prime
Gattling Cannon, 2 hotshot vollyguns, stormbolter

Taurox Prime
Gattling Cannon, 2 hotshot vollyguns, stormbolter

Delta Platoon (Support Platoon)
4 Command
4 Hotshot Vollyguns

4 Command
4 Hotshot Vollyguns

Taurox Prime
Gattling Cannon, 2 hotshot vollyguns, stormbolter

Patrol (Iotan Gorgonnes)
Charlie Platoon (Skyrider platoon)

Tempestor Prime
Command Rod

4 Command
4 Melta

10 Scions
Plasma pistol, 4 Melta

10 Scions
Plasma pistol, 4 Melta

5 Scions
2 Melta

Valkyrie
Hellstrike Missiles, Lascannon, 2 Heavy Bolters, Advanced Counter Measures

1998pts

Iotan Gorgonnes doctrines are easily the best for Melta and I'd argue Lambden Lions are best for everything else. Since I am taking 2 detachments, 2 different doctrines can be taken.
I am concerned that 4 Taurox Primes without anything to distract opponents anti mech firepower will be 4 smoking craters by the close of turn 1 if LoS blocking terrain is minimal.
Platoon A stays together within the WL trait of reroll 1s.
Platoon B with a Prime who can give commands to 3 squads and is equipped with Laurels means high chance of multiple squads with at least 2 commands each which makes Hotshot Laguns (especially Lambden Lions ones) very lethal. Can get closer T1 with the Tauroxes to disembark on T2.
Platoon C has the command squad, 5 man squad and Prime flying in the Valk, therefore able to get within short range melta, one of the 10 man squads can also get in short range Melta with Daring Decent strat.
Platoon D sits in ruins or on objectives and plinks away offering fire support from distance. They have a Taurox if needed to get to objectives.

That's 99 Infantry (and 10 scion vehicle crew) so a perfect number for a company size.

Even though the vehicles will fold like wet tissue paper I'm liking the feel of this list despite never having played Scions yet.

Thoughts?

I admit this is a well thought out list and reflects your expected style of play well, each unit is well synergized with what I think you are going to do with it, with only one exception.
Where is the refractory field generator? They promised my lambdas a refractory field generator for any taurox battle line!

I see why you put laurels there, of course. I just like the refractor (in part, because each soldier ALSO can benefit from it, and there has been a very large amount of ap-2 and ap-3 in my local meta's lists, since most people are building them to kill marines in cover.). So the A group dropping in around the dying B group mechs, can also benefit from it, as the anti-tank guns that no longer need to kill the mecha are switched to blasting individual scions to atoms. This goes 1/3 slower, if 1/3 of them can suddenly roll saves.

Result? Maybe you drag out the tank phase to early turn 3 or late 2. Maybe you save a dozen scions who would have died over the course of the game, with those rolls. Both are good!

I might swap laurels onto aquila onto skyrider, laurels stay with the mechs, but now you got a reroll 1 / 5++ dual aura guy who can drop with the plasma in midfield, and just run the terrified tauroxes up near him for their double buff on turn 2. (if, that is, they are still alive).

Don't get me wrong. This list is objectively better than mine -- if perhaps a tad less alpha strike, it hardly matters cause in scions beta strike always beats alpha strike. Its given me a fair bit to ponder and think about, and maybe I will change up my current list (which, I suspect by now, you have seen me post in multiple iterations so I will spare the viewers, eh?)

You don't even lose a command point from the aquila not functioning as it was starting in deepstrike with alpha anyway.

Yeah, I like that better, if only because you will occsaionlly face a foe where making the tauroxes shoot well and survive into turn 2 is so critical that you start your alpha guy among them on the board, an option you don't have if you don't hvae the relic.

Very good point. The option of having it is better than the Aquilla.
So I'd put it on the Alpha Prime and there is always the option of starting him on the board if needed - then deepstrike the Plasma squads a turn later after he has gotten upfield a bit.
If that's the case I could always swap around the plasma squads with the lasgun squads too on occasion - granted, when the lasguns drop they won't make a huge impact, but then that might make the opponent underestimate them and not focus upon them, allowing them to get into rapid fire range next turn (even dropping close but out of LoS to come marching around the terrain next turn all guns blazing with 4 shots could be an option in some battles). It'll mean the plasma is better protected and wouldn't take the WL trait away from the plasma guys who need it. It's obviously situation dependent.
How often do you find Tauroxes stick around for?

They are about like basilisks.
