Subject: TRANSPORTS - how many units can they carry? Crypteks and Detachment HQ Limitations

"This model has a transport capacity of 10 <dynasty> Necron Warriors or <dynasty> Infantry Character models."
- Ghost Ark, codex necrons 9e, page 106
Okay, it would seem that a transport is an APC taxi that can drop off or pick up Characters as it cruises across the field.
I can imagine Noble and non-Noble straphangers being jostled about inside subway-style. Brooklyn? Again?
Does that mean it can carry up to 10 different single model character units, dispensing them like PEZ?
With Assault Vehicle status, that would cause trouble for the "or" seeing that it is not an "and/or".
And for the poor Cryptothralls who could not ride with the Crypteks, even in the back of the bus.
Something tells me this RAW may not be RAI.

Unit limits on Transports largely disappeared last edition. Having a quick look at the Ork & new Marine Codex I can't see any listed. The CA19 Fortifications have limits such as "This model has a transport capacity of 2 INFANTRY units, up to a total of 20 models."

Transports can, unless otherwise specified, carry any number of units.

You can transport 10 skorpekh lords in a ghost ark. They must be able to fold like a swiss knife, to fit inside. But you cant in matched play, because of the "rule of 3". You could transport 3 skorpekh lords, 3 lokhust lords, 3 overlords, if you have three battalions. However, you cant transport 10 immortals, that would be OP.

And exactly THERE is the problem.
A shoehorn. Dynastic Codes. Detachment Abiliities. Detachments. It's all just shoehorned together.
Necron Detachments must allocate one HQ slot to a Noble in order to get all the juicy bennies. [ minus one slot because only CCB, Olord, Lord, and Named Characters are Noble. ] They must also have a Cryptek in order to have another Cryptek.with a non-standard designated battlefield role. [ minus two slots ] With One Noble and one Other and one Cryptek you get a second Cryptek but nothing else for your 3 HQ slots. Otherwise, you are stuck with 3 HQ slot batallions with onre Noble and Four Crypteks. If you didn't choose a 1-2 HQ slot detachment. Plasmacytes can be added one for the HQ slot Skorpekh and one for the Elite slot Skorpekh, but not Crypteks.
We have semi-useful exceptions to non-useful rules instead of actual useful rules. A new unit shoehorned onto the side of the original Detachment may actually solve this one. For each Noble HQ slot, one Royal Court shoehorn unit can be added. It is composed of one to xxx number of single model units and must stay in coherency.
But the Ghost Ark rule is a mess.
p.s. - thanks for putting up with my disorganized thinking and lack of structure due to Parkinson's etc. It has caused issues with my coherence of argument in previous posts. And I tip my hat to the Forum Lords and their putting up with my inelegant rhetoric.. Just imagine what my hand-painted models look like.
