Hi,

I’ve watch a fair few vids on green stuff and I’m still struggling to do much more than fill gaps and other basics. Is anyone aware of a good series of videos that aims to take you from beginner through to how to make things. I’ve seen some really cool stuff and quite details with greens stuff but can’t get my head around it.

What are you hoping to sculpt? I started sculpting making characters from the stories my kids make up so we could play "warhammer" games with them.

That's my dakka P&M blog detailing the process. I've tried to show some WIP pics along the way which might give you an idea of how I've been learning to sculpt.

I've gone on to do more anthro animals for Burrows and Badgers

They're a bit rough compared to the professional minis but I'm enjoying myself. Again some WIP will show the process.

But really what you want to make will determine the best method or approach. There are as many different ways to do sculpting as there are to do painting.

the biggest mistake is to try & do the whole thing in one go. you need to build up layers.
also have a good armature, eg:

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
