So the newest Disney Princess is upon us. Seems a bit more straightforward action this time, and I suppose not a musical? Any way, looks good, though at this point, plot & main feel a bit cookie-cutter. But I dig the SE Asian feel.
Saw the trailer and I liked what I saw. Almost like they are going for that gap left in the market by How to Train your Dragon by introducing their own dragon tale.
Not entirely sure about the kid is a ninja master sort of thing, but cannot tell the exact plot points from the trailer. The 'destined for greatness' kind of thing just bores me. Give me a story about the everyday person that rises and triumphs, that just seems more satisfying for me. We will see how it goes and I do look forward to seeing it.

The impression I got was that was a test of her skills to become a Guardian of the Dragon Gem. It looked like the guardian guy (her father?) in the demon mask was using a wooden sword. The time jump from really young to older says a lot. That whole ninja bit was probably a culmination or a step along the way of a "being raised to be a guardian" set of training.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
Talking about Disney Princesses, "the real Snow White", Marge Champion (nee Belcher) passed away yesterday at the age of 101. She was last surviving person who worked with the Disney's Snow White (1937).
She was hired at age of 14 to pose as a Rotoscope model for animated characters, mostly Snow White herself. She would then pose for some subsesquent Disney movies as well. Her involvement was kept somewhat under wraps for years as Rotoscope was considered borderline cheating. Footage from production of Snow White still exists and Marge was really very expressive Snow White.
