With the release of the Hounds of Morkai we've seen an interesting change in the GW design process by adding a creating a new, bespoke datasheet from an existing model box (with an upgrade sprue, but it's not specific to the Hounds).
All thoughts aside about how good the Hounds are what are the possibilities of GW doing this for other units and armies? i.e. making a Whiteshield datasheet for Cadians, or more likely bespoke units for space marines (special eliminator for salamanders, hellblasters for Dark Angels)

Conscripts already exist.
Tau Crisis Suit Bodyguards exist.
They’ve done this before and will do again. Sometimes it’s interesting (I think the Hounds are cool idea) sometimes it gals flat. They’ll do it again for sure!

Space Wolves aren't even the first Space Marine group to get something like this. Blood Angels got Death Company Intercessors in PA. and the main codex gave us vetern intercessors

Celestians, dominions and Battle Sisters- all the same box since 2003.
They liked it that way so much they repeated it when they finally transitioned to plastic.

GK strikes and GK termintors boxs make all the GK characters, all the units that aren't vehicles and all the HQs aside for Draigo.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain. |

Carnifexes, Screamer Killers, and Thornbacks are all from the same Carnifex kit.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them reunited in the next codex, it was a nice nod to the past but ultimately pointless.

I actually don't see them reuniting, see the Land Speeder datasheets. They seem to have realised that "Merged" units suffer due to Rule-of-3. The Relic Terminators were never actually run as 3-ofs so the merging didn't realistically affect them.

Battlewagons also say hi.
This actually makes me hope for trukk boyz finally getting their own datasheet.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

This is pretty much par for the course in age of sigmar for legacy kits. Gets more millage out of kits, which isn't a bad thing.
