Atlanta, Ga

I've been meaning to ask this question for a while now and it's been sort of bothering me.
With the advent of the primaris marines, as they could prepare for the indomitus release and so on.

Are we going to eventually see the original space marines being phased out in the future?

It looks like the older chapters that are just staying as standard marines, even those that we thought would never accept primaris (such as Space Wolves & Blood Angels). Something that we would believe was more thematically and canonically correct for the chapters to work through.

I don't personally see GW supporting the original lineup of marines for that much longer, possibly a decade at the most.

Is anyone else having this same problem?

One has to wonder. Do the Tyranids consider drop-assault troops... fast food?

In a word, yes. It's just going to be slower than originally planned due to the backlash the hard killing of WHFB recieved.

No one knows. A lot of folks will claim to, and present various theories in various stages of baking (mostly half-baked), but it is all guesswork.

I'm not even particularly convinced GW folks know.
If someone up top says 'Those made us a lot of money, do some test kits and see how well they sell alongside they new stuff;' GW will do that. if they feel like they aren't leaving money on the table by continuing with the current oldmarine kits, they might let them go instead.

Even if they are officially 'retired,' nothing stops them from bringing them back if the money is right.
Its a business decision, and there's nothing at all dictating GW do one thing or another.

Though since GW believes Marines make them more money than anything else, if the decide to End Times oldmarines, a 'Warhammer: the Old Marines' project would happen a lot faster.

This.
We can make some suppositions but we don't really know what GW's end game here is. and honestly I tend to agree, GW may not even have one for sure.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
