No, modifiers apply to the morale check as normal. ATSKNF is for combat attrition.

Check the core rules. In essence, if you fail a Morale test you then roll per model remaining to see if they flee.

I thought ATSKNF is for the morale test, at least thats what the rules say.
Was there an FAQ?

More like a new codex? The one that's been out for over a month. It changed the ATSKNF rule.

Weird, I guess what I have is not updated. Thanks.

Some confusion I've seen...
Moral test is not the same as attrition test.
ATSKNF don't change the morale test, but it removes modifiers from the attrition test.
so you always lose a marine on a 1 in the attrition test, no other number.

No, marines can fail the morale check as normal based on leadership and modifiers. A failed morale check means you lose one model from the unit AND take combat attrition tests for all the remaining models in the unit. Combat Attrition test: roll a d6 for each model and on a one that model flees. If the unit is below half strength you get a -1 modifier for the combat attrition rolls. This is all in the morale phase section of the free core rules. In the new SM codex ATSKNF means you ignore modifiers for combat attrition, so wil still lose models on a one, but below half strength doesn’t matter.

Yes. Marines ignore the -1 on attrition for being below half strength.
In a Marines vs. Marine match, they would also, for example, ignore the -1 from an opposing Marine characters "Fear Made Manifest" Aura/WL-Trait (and any future abilities like this that may show up in future books).
