Does anyone know of a good tutorial or have any suggestions for creating bases that show ocean waves or wake for ship games?

I’m looking for some suggestions for Kings of War Armada.

I haven’t had a go yet but I have bought some GSW splash gel. I think that’s the kind of thing you want. Vallejo so something like that aswell.

Quickest (but not cheapest) IMO would be AK Interactive; Water Gel Transparent.
Its like thicker pva glue but it is an acrylic gel. Shape it with a beat up brush and paint the tip of the waves if you want after it has dried.

(and in case you did not know, mantic will sell prepainted acryllic ocean bases for armada)

How about these I did...

The base is a plain clear perspex rectangle, topped with extra thick body clear gloss acrylic medium (mixed with a little prussian blue), after that was dry I added the foam, which is Woodland Scenics realistic water and soft flake snow, mixed into a paste and daubed on. Once dry, everything got a drybrush of white. Quick and easy.

There's some great resources on youtube I've fished out for you if you wanted. The authors are worth subscribing to IMO.
