The stuff shown looks nice enough, but if you're just selling Stls, and they've already been sculpted... What's the Kickstarter for...?
Because that's the main way people buy STLs. Kickstarter is the main marketplace for tabletop 3dpriting. Especially terrain where Pateron really hasn't taken off. You can put it elsewhere and maybe sell like 5-10% of what you would doing a kickstarter.
We really need to get away from people here acting surprised when something is actually on Kickstarter as it really has nothing do to with the process the site name implies anymore.
I think that past the moment the files are avaible, they will end up redistributed for free on shady networks :p ( just like music, movies, comics, anything really.. )
So it's also a way for us to prevent leakage and redistribution before we could find patrons!
Some of thoses piracy networks have huge visibility & communities than one isolated sculptor, so you might en up seeing someone rebrand an resell your work, with a better network, even Dos you and claiming you stole his "work" as he don't know you and just compiled STLs into a bigger kit. That's a total motivation breaker:(
I know some of us dosen't have any money, so was I.
Not everything should be paid especially art.
But we cannot live on sides job, or we'll be half good, it takes so much time.
It's a completly other topic i understand both side even if i'm not completly objective
That's also why i'm doing free stuff, and will keep doing so!
(free to download here

And i'm going to do the same, distribute a small portion of the kit at launch for everyone
like one small tent, one sleeping bag, one bucket and a crock pot
