Hello :-)

Thank you for taking your time to look at this problem I have, I am just started up in this wonderful game and have heard the call from the Emperor himself to take up arms!
I am trying to make a list that is on the mobile site more then the tanks side, I am still trying to figure out everything but I am slowly getting there.
I have made a very rough list here but please forgive me if there is a lot of things in it that is not as it should, as I said am trying :-)

I have chosen to make it more as a slow moving gunline with cadians and base some of my CP to boost them, my "secret weapon" will be Lambdan 133 as deep striking units with mainly plasma guns and hot shot volly guns, but I was thinking about taking different units from the scions for different task.
I have also chosen to mix the grunts a little around so it is not all cadia, so I have at the moment 1 unit of steel legion I wanted to use due to some of the special rules they get with chimeras, I am thinking about taking two times steel legion and 2 transporters and rush them up the battlefield.
I was lucky to get a sgt ripper Jackson, so of course I want include catachan in to my gun line as more of a mid table stopper so I can move my slow gunline up with time to take and hold objectives when time comes.
I have thought about getting 3 armoured sentinels to be oozing around the catchans and the steel legion to be a mobile platform and a stress unit for the opposite play to focus on, so my idea is the men that is "scary" factor but to try and remove focus away from that part by have a slow gunline, a mid semi fast gun line and a "up in your face" with the steel legion.

I have tried to make the list to the best of my knowledge, but I have not added in any CP or even know how many I can take, but they will be based on my lambdan 133 and maybe 9 iotans dragons(?) and cadians.

But here goes, I look forward to hear what you can come up with of suggestion and see if you can math the hell out of my list! FOR THE EMPORE

But then I don't have chimara, I dont have 1 extra steel legion, I don't have wyrns(? anti air jumpsuit take down tank) I don't have any heavy ordnance, but somehow I still feel I am missing something to squash Space marines, esp blood angles or space wolfs..

I know I am very new at this, but at least I am trying.. I think i would have something like 12-13 cp to start with would I not? and that will be use for the scions and cadians manily..

Welcome to the hobby and the Astra Militarum. The first thing that needs clarifying is how list building works. In this list you have Cadians, Catachans, Steel Legion and Lambdan Lions. In order to benefit from the abilities of each Regiment, all of the units belonging to that regiment need to be taken in their own unique detachment, so you would need a Cadian detachment with all of your Cadian units, a Lambdan Lions detachment with all of your Lambdan Lions, a Steel Legion detachment with all Steel Legion units and so on. While there is nothing inherently wrong with running so many different regiments, each one you take needs at least one HQ and two Troops and each detachment you take costs command points before the game. Your unit configurations are also illegal in a few places. Militarum Tempestus Command Squads cannot take Command Rods. Only Tempestor Primes can and the old days of the command squad with the officer are over. You must purchase your officer as an HQ and then your command squad as an Elite. They no longer come together. To accomplish what you're going for, you would need to do something like this;

Battalion Detachment - Cadian
HQ: Company Commander - Warlord (35)
HQ: Company Commander (35)
TROOP: Infantry Squad with Mortar, Sniper Rifle and Vox-Caster (67)
TROOP: Infantry Squad with Mortar, Sniper Rifle and Vox-Caster (67)
TROOP: Infantry Squad (50)
TROOP: Infantry Squad (50)
ELITES: 10 Ratlings (100)
ELITES: 10 Ratlings (100)
ELITES: 5 Ogryns (180)
ELITES: 5 Ogryns (180
FAST ATTACK: 3 Armoured Sentinels with Autocannons and Chainsaws (141)

Patrol Detachment - Catachan
HQ - Company Commander (Sgt. Ripper Jackson model) (35)
TROOP: Infantry Squad (50)
TROOP: Infantry Squad (50)
ELITES: Astropath (30)
HEAVY SUPPORT: 3x Leman Russ Battle Tanks with Lascannons, 2 with Heavy Bolters, 1 with PLasma Cannons (610)

Patrol Detachment - Steel Legion
HQ: Company Commander (35)
TROOP: Infantry Squad with Grenade Launcher and Missile Launcher (70)
DEDICATED TRANSPORT: Chimera with 2x Heavy Bolters (95)

Patrol Detachment - Lambdan Lions
HQ: Tempestor Prime with Command Rod (45)
ELITES: Militarum Tempestus Command Squad with Standard (45)
TROOPS: Scion Squad with Plasma Gun and Hot Shot Volley Gun (100)
TROOPS: Scion Squad with Plasma Gun and Hot Shot Volley Gun (100)

In total, that's 2,470 points and you would be starting with 6 Command Points. You begin the list building stage with 12 CP. The Cadian battalion costs 3 CP to take, (which is immediately refunded because that detachment contains your Warlord), and each of the patrol detachments for the other regiments cost 2 CP each. I'm not saying this is a good list, it is more an outline of how list-building works in 9th edition.

A note on scions.

I would recommend you start with the 'easy mode' regiment .. iotan dragons. Rigth now you have excellent ap but you will lose 1/2 your shots on the deepstrike roudn when you are forced to land beyond your optimal range.
I would suggest also you break the patrol down more like this.
tempest prime
4 man command squad (you seem to like the flag so put it in there, why not). This can go in close to support you but its also a very tiny unit to grab distant objectives and board edges that you can not feel sorry about using that way, its cheaper than a gaud squad and just lands where you wish it.
5 man squad with 2 plasma gun, 2 hotshot, 1 hotshotpistol/chainsword. Use this to get in close against mid to light armor and try to kill it.
5 man squad with 2 volleygun, 2 hotshot, 1 hosthotpistol/chainsword. Use this out at 24ish inches to try to fire those guns withotu direct retaliation by a charge.
10 man larger squad with 9 hotshotlasguns, 1 hotshotlaspistol/chainsword. drop in close and go antihorde with firstrankfiresecondrankfire. This can also be used, of course, to grab backfield objectives but can be an antihorde asset or a midfield infantry asset as well.

That gives you maximal flexibility in using your scions -- and it lets you play around with the different styles of drop that the scions invite you to experience, close, objective grab, volleyrange, and recon grab. The longer range on the rapidfire weapons lets you use your infantry a little better, and it doesn't hurt the plasma either. I think there are few times when the lambda lions 3 ap is really critical when you realize you are giving up a second 2 ap shot at range, and especially because so many opponents are going to take any -2 or -3 hit on the same 4++ invulnerability save.

Anyway, that's some thought but it isn't critical, I use lambdas most of the time and love them -- especially in a valkyrie drop setup.

Is my suggestion, anyway.
