How do!

Been mucking about with Azyr, trying to hammer my collection into an army. As you’ll see, this is very much a Squig List. And beyond “loadsa Squigs”, I’ve not a clue what I’m doing.

Spells and Artefacts are yet to be decided. Though I haven’t gone for a Squigalanche, as with the other required Batallion (Squig Stampede) it’s a too-pricey 230.

DA BOSSES

Mangler Loonboss - 280 (General)

Loonboss on Giant Squig - 110

Fungoid Cave Shaman - 80

BATTLELINE

Squig Herd (20 Squigs, 4 Gobbos) - 280

Squig Herd (20 Squigs, 4 Gobbos) - 280

Squig Hoppers (10) - 180

Squig Hoppers (10) - 180

UVVER

Boingrot Bounders (15) - 300

Mangler Squigs - 240

Malevolent Moon - 40

Totals out to 1980, and is valid according to Azyr.

Overall strategy? Distract opponent with a sea of teeth, then SQUIG ‘EM TO DEFF! (No, really)

August (IIRC) WD had an all Squig variant that you should check out. Gave the Shrine the ability to spit out more Squigs amongst other things.

Ooooh! I’ll have that somewhere....

Dug it out (really need to order my WD collection, it’s currently somewhat scattered).

Loon Shrine is a must, given its a freebie with a decent chance to spit out replacements.

Bit more sold on the associated Batallions, but the big’un remains a rather hefty 230 point tax. Might be more disposed to them at 3,000?

Small amendment.

Reducing one of the Squig Herds to 15, freeing up 70 points.

Leaves 90 points, which I’ll spend on the Squig Rider Stampede, allowing all my ridden Squig non-character units to re-roll movement.

And the Loonshrine.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Scratch that.

Ditched the Fungoid Cave Shaman and Endless spell, in favour of keeping all me Squiggly Beasts, and getting the Squig Rider Stampede in.

Should mean pretty reliable movement, spesh if the Loonboss on Giant Squig uses his command ability, giving all Squig units fully within 12” +3 to movement.

Fingers crossed it’ll let me rapidly close the distance and start biting the foe’s bums good and early.

Couple bits:

Fungoids are 90 aren't they? Not that it matters after removing it, but I like them for Squig Lure and command points. I actually think that's just a typo as adding up the points you've got there comes to 1970.

The Squig Rider Stampede is redundant if you're using the Jawz or Mork rules from White Dwarf. Jawz gives that ability to the entire army. The Jawz version of the Stampede (Moon-Jumper) is very tasty though and well worth taking, IMO.

The Squiggalanches just don't work sadly, IMO. They're cool for trying to generate a 1 drop list and there's certain advantages to the new one if you want to spam Hoppers, but I can't get over the fact you are required to take a Mangler that doesn't get to be in the Stampede.

FWIW, I started a Squig army last year that I've been meaning to morph into a more Squig driven affair with Jawz. I haven't settled on the list, but this is my current thought:

Allegiance: Gloomspite Gitz

Leaders
Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)
- Lore of the Moonclans: Squig Lure
Fungoid Cave-Shaman (90)
- Lore of the Moonclans: Itchy Nuisance
Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig (110)
- Moon-cutta
- Artefact: Syari Screamersquig
Loonboss on Mangler Squigs (280)
- General
- Command Trait: Envoy of the Overbounder
- Artefact: The Clammy cowl

Battleline
12 x Squig Herd (140)
15 x Squig Hoppers (270)
15 x Squig Hoppers (270)

Units
15 x Boingrot Bounderz (300)
6 x Sneaky Snufflers (70)

Behemoths
Mangler Squigs (240)

Battalions
Moon-Jumper Stampede (140)

Total: 2000 / 2000
Extra Command Points: 1
Allies: 0 / 400
Wounds: 164

Need to double check the WD when I’m home, see if it’s the allegiance for me (probably is, considering I’m Squig Daft).

Not sure why GG didn’t get clan type rules in their book though. Everyone else did!

Overall, I’m keen to get up close and personal quick as I can. That way I can get some Mortal Wounds put of the Squig Hoppers leaping over enemy units. Beyond that aiming to baffle my opponent with anarchy!

Having Hand of Gork to launch a 24 herd at a weak point (built in reroll charge from prodders) only for half to later come out of the cave seems solid.

I’d be tempted to try that with the Bounders. The more I have when I charge, the more Mortal Wounds.
