I grabbed a Starmada box on Black Friday on a whim, since if I got into Infinity they'd who I would be playing anyway.

Is the box supposed to contain any cards or purely models? Apologies for the silly question, but I noticed a few other blisters seem to, so I wasn't sure.

Cards do nothing, it's literally just product photos.

More specifically, standard boxes (starters, 300pt armies, boxed units, most TAGs and remotes, etc) do NOT come with any cards. Several (all?) of the Dire Foe boxes come with art cards of the concept art for the models and I wouldn’t be surprised if the special editions and character packs of the graphic novels also have them.

The game has two kinds of card.

In regular blister packs you basically get a product ID card with a picture of the painted model on the card.

In the Direfoes sets you get 5 or so somewhat larger cards which have things like promotional artwork and concept designs for the models in the box.

In both cases they have no game aspect to them what so ever, they are purely decorative.
