What's your plans in 2021?
Mine are playing the new Necrons (gathering and painting the new models still ongoing) at the competitive level.
Tournament scene is down here in central Europe. That's a pity.

General 2021 plans are to get my ‘Nids up to a playable level, and make some solid inroads into the Primaris battle company. Other then that, the same slow, steady progress I’ve been maintaining over the last few years.

I'll be working on my BA's during 2021, no idea how far I'll get but will at the very least collect all the models for the new army so I can then slowly chip away at completing them.

With the 2021 Kill Team update coming, and Covid vaccines in the horizon, hope I'll be getting some good KT games in during next summer at the latest.

2021 plans;

Get my Indom set + other Primaris assembled & painted up. Still have to decide on a color scheme.

Get the rest of my Necrons (that aren't being used in our Crusade) base coated.

Get our next Path to Glory league for AoS officially launched.

There's been a few pieces added to my AoS Beastmen force that need finishing paint wise.

Gotta paint another 2000 pts of Gloomspite Gitz and all Man o War fleets. I have to admit my motivation is low in the face of another 6 months of lockdown and no prospect of gaming in person.

1) To finally paint my wall of shame.
2) To finally decide which Conquest army to collect in full instead of picking models from the entire range.
3) To finally try contrast paints.

On the + side though you've got spare time to get it done.
Its how my own goblins got painted back in the spring/beginning of summer. Time that would've normally been spent doing _____? Well, with everything closed down/canceled all I could do was paint goblins & wait....

Try to actually get some games in! Not sure I even got to play against my usual opponent in 2020. Did get a couple of games in with my eldest son, which was good fun. Will be aiming to play more with the boys too, youngest has just started collecting as well. Then there's my surprise copy of Hero Quest for the family, which I've nearly finished painting.

Secondly of course is the painting! Backlog of CSMs, Drukhari, Hero Quest, Space Crusade, Necromunda, and now my youngest's Primaris marines, is weighing on me a little...

Finally, finishing the setup of my painting room. Got shelves in now, which still need stocking. Possibly also need another desk and some more lighting...

Need to adapt plans. My girlfriend got me The Void Dragon and The Silent King. Will need to get those painted!

1. Start a Sci Fi blog here on Dakka.
2. Get games of Grimdark Future and Age of Fantasy in with my friends.
3. Finish my terrain making with some Ash Wastes terrain so I have Temperate, Jungle, City and Wasteland/Underdark terrain sets.
4. Paint up my Chaos and Tau for Grimdark Future, finish my Beastmen and Wood Elves for Age of Fantasy, and maybe get my Lizardmen done.

Paint and Hobby less! with nothing to do this year I've painted more models for more games than I've ever done before. Completed well over 100 models since March.

1. Put together and paint Mantic-o-War (KOW Armada) before the next fleets come out.

2. Finally finish the Dragon Rampant Undead army that I've been slowly putting together this year.

3. Try and finish painting my remaining Burrows and Badgers models before I buy some more.

4. Play with other people again!

Continue painting and buying nothing but the occasional GW hobby supply from GW until the Eldar see an update.

It’s saving me a bundle and I’m finishing a ton of work.

Merry Christmas all! My hobby plans involve printing and painting a dwarf army for Kings of War and doing the same for a not!ImperialGuard army. Other than that, I have a few small painting projects I want to work on, but those will be filler for whenever I burn out on the big projects.

Skills wise, I plan on trying things like OSL and NMM to shake up my usual painting style, and I also want to improve on my sculpting skills. I would love to be able to do more than wobbly tendrils and spikes.

My hobby plans for 2021 are to finish my Black Legion and Genestealer Cult armies. I also finally want to complete painting a number of kill teams. Finally, I want to at least get the most fielded portions of my Slaves to Darkness and/or Lumineth armies painted before things get closer to normal and I can get in games again. Lastly, I would like to update my signature bar army/kill team articles which are painfully out of date.

I think all of that should be pretty accomplishable provided GW doesn't release more new models for 40k Chaos, GSC or expand whole new categories (like Fast Attack or Heavy Support) of units to Kill Team. I don't see me starting a new army this year unless Eldar get an update, and they also start using Alarith Stoneguard styled thunder mallets. Or I get a crazy good deal on some used army.

One thing I intend to do is get the rest of my Indomitus Marines finished. I also intend to get my Sisters of Battle army ready to play in tournaments, which will mean a few more purchases perhaps but mostly getting what I already have assembled and painted. I might also (assuming this pandemic ever ends) see if I can jump-start a community for the Middle Earth SBG locally. Run some demo games and stuff and see if there's any interest. I'm a huge LotR fan so I'd love to be able to actually play the game.

Well I'm gonna paint some doggos of Khorne.

Not too much planned for 2021, this year I accomplished a lot more hobby than I thought I would so I'm planning a bit of a calmer year next year now that I have a lot finished

1- Finish off my Star Wars Legion armies to make the lists that I want (for Republic, the tank is all. Rebels it's Lando to fill out the OT gang, Cassian/K2 and 2 units of Pathfinders to play Rogue One lists)
2- Play at least 5 games each of Bushido, Necromunda, Infinity and BB2020. I have them all painted, so I may as well put in the effort to get games in
3- Finish all the Malifaux stuff I own, and get 2 Explorers crews done. Mostly basing, one of the Explorers crews is McCabe which I already own everything released so just waiting on Lord Cooper and the rest of McCabe's stuff to be released.

1. Paint the Nighthaunt my SO and I have started together and start playing games of AoS against my Seraphon
2. Paint as much of my Space Marines as possible
3. Paint my large collection of starship models (mostly old Firestorm Armada I got at deep clearance prices) for the space opera RPG I'm developing.
4. Start my Kings of War Dwarfs army

Well my plan for 2020 was the same as my 2019 plan which was to aim to own fewer boxes of models unbuilt than I owned at the start of the year.

I overall succeeded for 2019, but that was partly off the back of selling a load. 2020 I didn't really manage to shift anything; but I kept buying. So I failed on that score.



However I consider it an overall net win because whatever I have bought I have kept steadily chipping away at now and then. So I'm left with armies I'm at least working on/with rather than things going mouldy.




So my 2020 plans are:
1) FINISH armies before starting new projects. I have to be harsh with myself on this one because otherwise I'll end up back where I was - loads of unbuilt ideas and a mountain of purchasing guilt that stalls me.
Modest exception for the return of Dystopian Wars and if Firestorm Armada returns this year- but I'm not expecting that. Otherwise no new armies/games until I've at least got one army to a "finished" state in terms of purchasing AND building

2) LEARN TO PAINT - PAINT SOMETHING Yeah my biggest weakness for years and years. I've bought paints (that died and went dry) I've bought brushes (that likely ran away); but actual paint onto models is - less common.

So this year I really really really want to fix that. I'm sick of grey!



So yeah no new army/game projects and learn to freaking paint.

My major goal is to quit buying models (and games) and actually play with what I have. Especially my WW2 / WW3 tank models.

And this year to get to go to Disneyworld to celebrate a now-belated 25th wedding anniversary.

My 2020 plan was to go to a convention, but Corona killed that off. So I've set aside all play and conventions and event stuff as "post corona" plans

I have a several goals in 2021.

I typically break them down into a few categories:

1. Purchases
2. Painting
3. Playing
4. Rules Writing

This year, I will be releasing Wars of the Republic via Osprey, so my goal is to convert my playtest paper Romans Standee Army into an actual Roman Army to help support the launch of that game with Battle Reports, Army posts, etc. Therefore, the second half of the year will have a lot of Ancient action.

My second big goal is to get my second Osprey publication Castles in the Sky ready for Osprey to publish. I all ready have the painted fleets and am in a diligent playtesting phase now. Therefore, I expect a decent amount of content on that on the blog for the first half of the year!
