Alright, trying to get together a Legions of Nagash army here. This is what I'm sort of building towards. My main concern is if I have too many points sort of huddled together at the top in Heroes. I haven't really played a proper AoS game, this is more or less just to get me on a straight path of what to collect and build. Thanks for the help.

Two mortarchs is pretty character heavy but at 3k it is doable.

Zombies aren't great right now and you are better off with skeletons, but it isn't crippling if you want to run them.

The black knights should just be 1 unit of 10 so you can send them out front on a suicide charge then bring them all back at once using gravesites. You already have dogs to fill the fast cavalry role.

Grave guard should be great weapons as you already have the basic infantry to act as anvils.

This is critical: you NEED to max out the size on your infantry units. They will fight more efficiently and are more ideally grouped for both buffs and returning after being wiped out. Max-size infantry blocks are the cornerstone of Legions of Nagash and for 3k you are going to need 3 of them at the least. You can drop the cairn wraith, one zombie unit, and/or 2 morghasts to make it happen.

For maxing out the infantry, does the 3 include the Grave Guard or would you suggest 3x 40 Skeleton Warriors?

3x40 skeletons. Though 2x40 and 30 Grimghast Reapers/Bladegheist Revenants (whichever you prefer) won't steer you wrong.
