Subject: Which Brushes Do you Need for miniature painting Fresh Tips tutorial
In this miniature painting tutorial we talk about which paint brush is right for you and the right bristle brush for the job. This is part one of this talk of brushes and brush care.

I've been using primarily Windsor & Newton Series 7 for years now.
Recently I started experimenting with oil paints and bought a stack of really cheap synthetic brushes. I must say that I'm surprised at how good they are. In fact, I barely notice any difference between them and my expensive W&N brushes and I think they're actually better than my Army Painter, Citadel and GW brushes.

Are you using oils for mini painting or have you been using oils for canvas type work?
Brushes are situational, the right tool for the job. Just like paints. One color isn't used in every instance and why would we treat brushes in the same regard.

For miniatures.
You can't see it very well, but the troll in this photos is entirely painted in oils.
There's little bits of oil here and there on the orcs but they are mostly acrylic.
