So we know that the chaos gods aren't the only warp entities in existence. You have things like Gork and Mork and (at least formerly if not presently) the eldar pantheon. What I want to know is whether or not some of the less powerful warp entities can avoid getting eaten by/sucked into the influence of the big four chaos gods. Is it feasible, for instance, to have a weak god of oceans and protection (for instance) that exists as a sapient creature roughly on par with a daemon without that entity getting soaked in "Khorne radiation" due to the protection aspect and basically just turning into a khorne daemon or something?

I like the idea of a sorcerer type that has a minor spirit as a familiar (rather than using one of the standard daemonic familiars that are kind of just mouthpieces for their gods' agendas). Or possibly having a warpsmith obsessed with trapping minor gods and using them to shape/power his forge fiend equivalents. But is it fluff-breaking for such an entity to even exist in the warp given how heavily influenced it is by the big four?

Maybe I'm just using a very roundabout way to ask what we know about warp entities that are neither warp gods nor warp-fauna (like the khymarae). Are chaos god daemons the only spirit pets in town?

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Well, Gork and Mork aren’t minor warp entities by any stretch of the imagination.\

When roused by a building Waaagh!, they’re more than a match for the Gods of Chaos.

Others?

Well, Slaanesh is said to have consumed the Eldar Pantheon, barring three (Khaine was shattered, Isha is Nurgle’s prisoner, and The Laughing God). The rest are all gone.

Other minor gods? Well, who knows. Are they simply fragments of the larger gods? Particularly powerful Daemons?

malal/malice, the only one to be able to enter the materium and being classified as a god, represents chaos selfdestructiveness and the general anarchy.

Basically he want's to curb any semblance of order and is an active counterplayer to any of the gods.

Then there is the equivalent of the Mob, assessors, basically enforcers that controll chaos pacts and payment for these pacts..

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

My personal headcanon is that there are a lot of minor warp entities that run around calling themselves "gods" and "goddesses" on a lot of planets.

I suspect that most of them are just warp spirits that do have power, but rather like most things in 40k, are always worried about the bigger fish. So, having some "god" of fertility knows that if it gets too powerful, it will just get nommed on by Slaanesh, or Papa Nurgle,,,depending on what sort of fecundity it is pushing.

So, it basically goes ultra powerful Warp gods (the big 4, Gork/Mork), then there are the second tier (Eldar pantheon survivors), then we have warp entities, some of whom can set themselves up as deities.

The reason that a lot of sorcerers are so dangerous is that they are not native warp creatures and so pulling power through the warp is an inherently dangerous task. If a warp being of middling power decides to be, or is a a god of the ocean, then they are. If they are powerful enough to be dealing with only one planet, or maybe a whole system, then they are fairly safe. If they start to become too powerful and want to travel far and wide in the Warp, or get billions of followers...then they might get a call from one of the Big 4 and get eaten, or corrupted, or forced servitude, or whatever catches the Chaos God's fancy at the moment.

U.k

The gods in the warp are manifestations of emotions not things so you wouldn’t have one of oceans or trees like in polytheism. But you of hope or despair or envy by all means. And the lesser gods would vary in power and wax and wain and blink in and out of existence. Basically do what you you like. It’s chaos. There’s no rules.
