One of my favorite terrain modelers is running a Kickstarter for a Ruined New England Harbor/fishing village for printing. It's designed mostly for Fallout but would be useful for any game that it's theme would fit into. Prices are in CAD as well so it's cheaper then listed if in the US.

Spoiler:

They all have playable interiors and come with a lot of furniture to print.

Also some SGs have been unlocked.

Realized I forgot the link to the actual campaign. Added that.

Some new free models have been added which can be downloaded with the other free content from the linked gdrive.

Also a few more Streach goals have been unlocked. The Ruined ship (still a WIP), Ruined house and Strange Alter

A new Social Stretch Goal was added not to long go for a ruined Ultramart. Need 500 project followers and I think we're around 480 right now.

So if you feel like it clicking the follow button it will help out, you can always unfollow after it finishes. I think all it does is give you a 48 hour notification that the campaign is ending.

I did love Far Harbor, but this kickstarter is quite expensive for the files on offer. I'm not too impressed with the lack of detailing in the models.

This is kind of a running theme with their kickstarters. Looks quite good at a cursory glance, but once you look a little deeper there's no substance.

Agreed. Too pricy, particularly compared to something like Printable Scenery. On top of that, the package is unfocused and padded with random junk people likely already have. Graveyard terrain? A crashed UFO? Post apocalypse barricades that are a dime a dozen (actually free) on Thingiverse? Random Fallout type vendors? Why is the ferry/boardwalk so far down the stretch goal list?

Sorry, this was poorly run and thought out. If they had lowered the cost and reduced the padding, I would have gone for it :/

Price is subjective so I won't go too much there but I've found value in what I get. It probably helps that I've printed about 80% of what I've gotten in past KS campaigns vs others where usually I want like 1/3rd. But ya, if you only like half of what's there I can see why $75 USD is too much.

Detail, which is also subjective but easier to debate then cost, I like this over a lot of the printable scenery post apocalypse stuff. Jeans stuff prints 2x-3x as fast and has the right amount of detail for how I like to paint. I don't need tons of detail on my wood planking as it doesn't have that in real life unless it rotting. Also lighter terrain pieces all around compared to stuff like Printable Scenery (which I do have a lot of) so less plastic is used, walls are thinner and so on. Which I also like.

I do agree with the randomness of the Stretch Goals. He pretty much places things based off of people asking for stuff in the FB group mixed with stuff he just feels like doing. I tried to steer things more in theme (boardwalk, ferry and the carrousel were my suggestions) and why the beached whale and Cannery aren't higher up I can't say either. I personally would have like more house styles over the graveyard and alters.

He tends to also add venders and barriers every campaign. While I don't really need the venders here but the defenses sections are nice in how they fit into what else he's done and still useable without those.

The Ultramart is the frequently asked for building since the first KS so I know that one is there, and a social goal, just to get it done with.

Edit: I showed Jean this thread and he was thankful for the feedback on the contents and theming. I know he's looking at ways to make pricing better (as this is a one person operation where he's trying to figure out what works and what doesn't and still make money) for future projects. Any other feedback along those lines is welcome.

I also have been bugging him to get an online store on Minihoarder up (as it's very affordable compared to MMF) so people don't have to go all in to get the back catalogue which I think would help what the base offering price can be as the items will have the opportunity to earn money outside of KS.

Thanks for passing the feedback along! I know I came off as a bit harsher than I intended, so kudos to Jean for taking it in stride. I would legit go in for a partial pledge in a future KS with a tighter focus, or just pick the individual pieces if they put up a store. The shacks in particular are unique and full of character. I noted they ran a couple post apoc campaigns, so hopefully they circle back and revisit the theme, as it is underserved in terrain compared to your more standard city/ruins/castle stuff. Gimme a shrimp boat, ferry, and a dockside bar for round 2! Also some golf carts. Or maybe that's more a Gulf coast thing where we tool around in those about town.

I'm pretty sure he'll do another post apoc KSer as Fallout is a game he really likes (And he's dang good at making boards for it). He's also considering a pateron for terrain that I think, if he keeps at the price point he's considering, will be a good deal.

The next I believe is a 40k one which he's told me he's going to try a different pricing plan there. Lower buy in with themed add on packages. That should let the SG unlocks stay more in theme with the core pledge. But also let him do some stuff that people request and that interest him that don't really fit.

Also he's rearranged some of the SG based off of feedback:

The next ones are now the Beached Ghoul Whale at 22k, the Observatory at 25k and the Ferry Dock and Boat at 28k. The idea being to focus a bit more on the seaside theme. Also, the Damaged UltraMart has been removed from the moneyed SGs and has been unlocked as a stand alone since we reached 500 project followers!

I do really like the idea of being able to buy the .stl's individually, as well as some of those newly lowered stretch goals.

Not sure how realistic this is, and this creator is better about it than a lot of other fallout adjacent content, but undamaged buildings/scatter are also something I appreciate.
