I'm Righter8
Been into Games Workshop hobbies since 1993. Started with the 2nd edition 40K set a friend had purchased. I bought the Warhammer Fantasy Battles 4th ed box set intending to start up a High Elf army. Got hooked on the Undead (when it was JUST one army) and the elves were set aside. Bought the 3rd edition 40K set and began collecting Space Marines. Shortly thereafter, I also started collecting IG (Astra Militarium now) and still have at least 2000 points of each. I gathered a sizable amount of Chaos Marine models in a trade for my High Elves. Dabbled in some other GW 'fad' games, like Mordheim, Siege, Necromunda and Epic. None of those stuck.

I went into hiatus when 2 of my regular opponents both moved out of the area in 2001/2002. Marriage, kids and bills imposed a necessity to start less financially and time invested hobbies. I played D&D from 2000 to 2010 or so, switching to Pathfinder shortly after it was released.

I've kept an eye on the GW world from afar. Seeing things like my beloved Undead become ripped into 2 armies, Kehmri and Vampire Counts, followed by the recent destruction and rebuilding of WFB into Age of Sigmar has left me disinterested in trying to rebuild anything from those ashes. 40K has changed too, but not in as drastic a way, in my eyes. Around March 2020, I heard people talking about a game called Kill Team. Then COVID hit and I spent time reading about it online as my LGS was no longer a resource for information. Here was a game that allowed me to play in the 40K universe, but didn't require any more than 20 models. Cool. Both my kids were now teens. The older had similar interests to me in hobbies. I purchased the KT rules on eBay, we played some games and both our interest in the 40K universe was (re)ignited.

I'm back and looking to resume playing with my 3 established (if not fully assembled and painted) armies and my oldest is just starting on a Chaos Demon army.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
