Hi, I've had some unknown models sitting around for a while now and I'm hoping someone here knows what they are. (The old SM and CSM are just a couple models I cleaned recently that I threw in for size easy comparison)

Even if I can't figure out what they really are, I'm also interested in getting opinions for their potential use. I am mainly considering using them as sort of Militia style Guardsmen and/or Chaos Cultists. I think they make cool alternatives for both.

Unless they turn out to be some long lost GW models I've never heard of before, I know there's a near zero percent chance they'd be allowed in any tournaments, so this is just a casual play consideration. What I'm trying to ask is, how would you feel to see these guys on the table in the aforementioned roles?

Looks like flak armored humans wielding S3/24"/rapid fire weapons to me....

Don't know, maybe Vor: The Maelstrom?

In any event, I'd lean towards either Guardsmen or Scions, with the Pistol and pointing guys as sergeants. Doesn't look like anyone has special weapons of any kind, so the rest could just be grunts.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, I've got some Starfleet Marines models (Limited run from the guys who made Starfleet Battles) that I use: Heavy armored guys are Scions and lighter armored guys are Guardsmen.

More or less my thoughts exactly!

A quick look for Vor: The Maelstrom didn't reveal and matches, but thanks!

If I had gotten the last guy from the green squad, I suppose they would make decent 5-man Scions sub ins. The only "special" thing of note is that the models that looks like he's running forward with a pistol has a sling pack with a medical symbol. I think only command squads can have medics though, so it'd just be flavor. Just like if I used any of the RT medics really.

(Now I kinda want to run the old Medic eating a Vegiburger in a command squad even though I have two obvious medics from the old metal command squad set. )

I actually have 12 (2 sets of 6) Female Trooper models from one of those old "Star" something games. Can't recall if it was Starfleet, Starship Troopers, or something else though. Was planning on using them as something even though they have at least two special weapons that I remember. Sniper rifle and grenade launcher iirc.

They are EM4 pre-painted minis, usually described as S.W.A.T. Team. They did/do a range of fantasy, historical and sci-fi figures, with boxed sets of pre painted (including d20’).

Well, that definitely seems like it could be the case. Unfortunately, after a good 15 minutes or so of searching, I couldn't pull up anything definitive. Not even pictures of the same models.

However, by looking through EM4 miniatures I was led to a sculptor named Mark Copplestone, to whose credited works they bear a striking resemblance. There seems to be very left of EM4s Pre-Painted range to compare them to and they don't seem to be from their other ranges as they do not have built in bases, but their Pre-Painted range does include examples with the rare slotta hex bases that two of the sets are on so it seems likely.

A lot of the eM-4 stuff is old stuff they got from the Grenadier miniatures split (the company folded, but it was a Grenadier USA and a Grenadier (Europe/UK)). Miriliton games got the other chunk.

Mark Copplestone sculpted a lot of their "Future warriors" for Grenadier that eM-4 has.
Many of his current "Copplestone castings" range hark back to those 90s sculpts, too.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
