Hello, I would like to know if there's a specific a glue advised to assemble the miniature on the a clear GW flying stand (seraphim for instance).

I have already tried with cyanoacrylate but it has "smoked" the clear plastic of the stand. I would like to know if it's possible to use the plastic glue on this clear plastic? Does it melt and create a bond with the grey plastic of the mini?

Thanks you!

Poly cement will bond the two plastics, superglue will mak the clear base brittle.

I use Tamiya's extra thin plastic cement, but any plastic cement should do. You are going to need to hold it in place for a while, though, so beware!

Anything I say, unless expressly noted, is my own opinion. Take it as you will

Most if not all model/ craft stores will sell it, it can be in tube form like a gel or a brush on liquid and also a fine needle type applicator.

I live in a small city so I ordered those two online :
- Tamiya Extra Thin Cement
- Tamiya Cement

According to Vince Vinturella, the first is also great for filling gap between parts.

Small gaps, not big gaps, i use tamiya plastic glue about 98% of my time, and use extra thin instead of greenstuff for small gap filling on plastics.

Both of them comes with a brush applicator in the cap so it gives you big controll over how mutch glue and where to apply. However, extra thin glues on a different approach. It has the consistency of nonfat milk and it dryes so fast that it will have evaporated before you can place two parts togeather, so you hold the parts firmy inplace whit one hand, then run the brush over the joint with the other hand. The glue will run into the contact point and have glued the two parts together in under 10 sec.

The other bottle is normal thick cement and takes about 30-45 sec to dry enugh that you can attatch next part.

Now for clear plastic, of it is not too big of a connection point, use wood glue/pva glue. It is suprisingly strong when properly dryed and it will not fog the clear plastic like normal plastic glue does, as it functions like superglue, it dont melt the plastic. I use plastic glue, and I've had no issues with my inceptors/suppressors. I had to green tape the stands though for when I primed the models. I use the gw plastic glue if that helps at all.
