Hello
Does anyone have tips on what a good edge highlight color for Citadels "Waaagh! Flesh" could be?
I am doing Salamanders Space Marine chapter, GW tutorial was Waaagh! Flesh and then layer with Warpstone Glow and edge highlight with Moot Green. But Waaagh looked really good on it's own, so i want to keep them at that base color only, but add a selective edge highlight on some areas. Moot Green will probably be way to bright as an edge highlight for Waaagh i think.

I'm not to sure, but maybe adding in a bit of white to the "Waaagh Flesh" could give a nice color to edge with unless you have tried that already. Good luck!!
Edit - You should try multiple white colors because this can really effect the color you get.

Didn't think about adding white to the main color, thanks for the tip! I will try it out!

Adding white or yellow to most colours can give you a highlight shade. In fact, this used to be the official Citadel recommendation in the days of yore, when the citadel colour range was much smaller.
You can also create interesting intermediary colours by mixing different shades of the same colour, even simple 1:1 ratio mixes of two neighbouring colours can create interesting/useful shades.
It's always a good habit to mix the less dominant colours a bit. The exact paint shades on the pots are there as your backbone, and you can always lean into them for giving your models a consistent colour, but mixing a bit for the small stuff can be very rewarding.

IIRC, Waaagh Flesh is a pretty desaturated green, so adding white to the highlight will probably result in a pastel look. A yellow or a bone/flesh colour would work better in the highlight mix if you want a warmer/richer end result.
I recommend watching some of Vince Venturella's 'Hobby Cheating' videos. The one on green is here.

Have you tried just using warp stone glow? As that is the next layer of brightness in the GW colour scheme? If it’s too bright mix in a bit of waaaaagh green.
I think if you mix in yellow your going to end up with more of a warp stone glow but that’s a guess as I haven’t tried it. My guess with adding white would be a death guard green type colour, although that’s probably got a bone white in it.
Please post pics of whatever you do I’ll be interested to learn what results you get Automatically Appended Next Post: I mean you will end up with more of a lime green if you mix yellow, sorry. Dakka won’t let me edit my post

Actually the color would be Warboss Green according to the Citadel Painting System chart which came out in White Dwarf when the current paints were released back in 2012. Warpstone Glow works better as a highlight for Caliban Green. GW's website shows multiple options using the base/shade/highlight system which will not always use the same paints. For example, the page for Waaagh! Flesh on the online store has three premade "recipes" for Emerald Green, Green and Grimy Green which all use differing paints but all have Waaagh! Flesh as one of the paints in the "recipe" and each having a different highlight for the color.

Before I switched up my process with an airbrush, I used to do, Caliban Green with Warpstone Glow as the base, then highlight with 50:50 WG:Moot Green, 100% Moot Green and then pick out the highest areas with Moot Green an just a smidge Yriel Yellow. I found that adding white desaturated the top highlight too much and gave the model an overall cold look. Of course, this is subjective to tastes, but some proof below, if you're wondering how that scheme turns out.
Salamanders are one of those chapters that nobody has quite pinned down. They range from Olive and Emerald Green in the HH Tomes, to a colder green in the Imperial Armour: Badab War books and a bright Forest Green in Codexes/Novel covers. There's no real canonical way to do them tbh, so the world is your oyster. If I recall correctly, Dark Angels green used to be marketed as Salamanders Green wayback in 2nd Ed. or so.
My take, for what it's worth to you:
EDIT: Welcome to Dakka as well
