I've ordered a new printer and it took ages to arrive. When it finally arrived, I was in reorganising my hobby room and do it took another week until it finally was inaugurated.
I started with some miniatures I printed on the other printers andspread them out on the build plate to see how the printer would handle that. They printed fine and it was time to give it some real task.
I decided on a Marauder for 40k.
The model is of course too big to be printed as one part, so it was printed in segments.
I tried segmenting it along the roll-axis in addition to the lateral axis and glue the halves together - which failed, because it would need to much sanding.

Now the segments are cut along the lateral axis only and most of the connection points for supports are hidden "inside" when tucked into the next segment.

The largest part are the wings, which had to be printed separately.
Of course there are other parts like the cockpit interior, the gun turret, the canopy, missiles, the aft cannon etc.

I tried to print the "glass parts", but the result wasn't good enough. Apply PU Gloss Varnish inside and outside, hinted on a possible solution. But it would take some tests and time to get tolerable results. So I decided to use acrylic glass for the window panes.

I only had some green tinted glass, but that's ok, it's a necessity on that planet where it is stationed.
I decided on a 3 grey colour scheme. AK Panzer Grey and Army Painters Uniform Grey on top and Citadel Grey Seer for the bottom parts. All applied by spray can.

After applying the foundations and metal colours.

There was the question, to wash, to drybrush, to highlight, a combination ?
In the end I decided to highlight the edges only and give a very gentle drybrush.
And that's that:

The complete design, print and painting took exactly 2 weeks.
The model weighs 833 gramms. Wingspan 41cm tip to tip, length 43cm from Autogun-tip to Assaultgun-tip.
The stand is cut from 5mm acrylic glass. It's rather low on intend, as I'm notoriously knocking over high models.
All in all it was a fun project, but working 14 days long every day on the same model is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Understand this is a first design an alpha version. The next model would be easier to build, easier to paint and just better. And it will be, if I ever do a second Marauder.

That is a beautiful model and one I would love to get access to for my Valhallans.

Have you thought about doing a crashed version of it? I'm sure there would be a load of 40K players that would love something like that for their terrain.

Many thanks for your comments.

@Printable Scenery
I did, but in a different context. I will make some scenery from parts I printed twice, because of minor changes.

I only design and print for personal use. This means my files will only advance as far as I need them to to get a result I'm content with. The files are not ready for distribution and layman's printing. To make them so would be a tedious process I do not want to waste my time with. I prefer to make a different model instead. Anyway models like the Marauder or files to create them can not be distributed, because of copyright issues in the wider sense (e.e. in Germany it would more likely be a "design rights" issue).
So I will not make a Marauder terrain piece or any other model file for distribution.

After having done the Marauder there were some other projects, but I came finally back to flayers. This time an Avenger. The Avenger looks a bit like the Ju87-G; the tank buster version of the (in)famous Stuka.

I used the Aeronautica model for reference and I assume that is the reason why it's wingspan is 2 inches more than that of the FW model.

The model is a 3d printed resin model. Only exception is the canopy glass and the stand. Both are made from acrylic glass. Crew is two women. The pilot wears a mask, the gunner loves to sniff cordite. The canopies are not glued on yet, because I'm considering repainting them. For one the paint job is rather spotty and secondly grey would fit better in with my other flyers.

I made two of them. The hull is rather slim. That the hull of the one in the background looks a bit squat is due to the perspective.

The Avenger is easily identified by its wing shape and the jets resting in the fold.

The rear fuselage is also quite characteristic and hard to confuse with that of other planes.

Super nice design and have always had a soft spot in my heart for the WWII Stuka design, even if a terrible engine of war. I do have an equal-opportunity collection of large R/C warbirds in my garage and the star is my 72" wingspan Stuka among American, British and Japanese birds.

I let a friend talk me into trying out the new AOS. I only play with painted models, so I had to paint 1500 points - thank god they were Stormcasts - in a week. At the end there were 50 points left. Just enough for an endless spell. 65€ for a box full of spells - most of them I will never use - with outdated cards an an insecure future. So I designed a model for the one I wanted and printed it overnight.

That looks very cool. Effective paint job as well.

Once in a while, there is a model missing. In this case it was an Ensigneer. My Imperial Army contains women only, so this would have to be a lady Ensigneer. I have armies in Talarn and Catachan flavour, but the non regimental types are used by both armies.
I do not like cyberthingies, so she got some kind of an exoskeleton. And of course a servo-arm is attached to it and she holds some kind of an axe.
The first incarnation used a boring resting pose. But even before I started the design I wanted to do some kind of a "flying Kung-Fu pose" leaning on the servo arm. Interestingly enough when you mount the model not on its servo arm, but the left leg, it looks like a completely different model, but it's really just a different "glue point".

I let myself talk into fielding 6 Hellhounds. Because I only have one, I planned to use Proxies. But I had a week time ‘til the game and decided to design a model and print it. And just managed to design the model, print 6 copies and paint them within a week.

I bought a different resin and needed a model to test it. Instead of using a model I already have enough of, I designed a new one. A Heavy Quad Launcher or Thudd Gun as we ancients used to say. The crew are my usual jungle-female-soldiers posed accordingly and equipped with accessories for the occasion. The resin is yellow and hard to photograph.

Some terrain. It should be something to be used with 40k and AOS, something like a fort.

I decided on something with an ancient Egyptian touch.

With some Impies for reference.

A look from above

Here you can see that it's printed with an FDM printer. I would love to claim, that the pattern in the wall was on purpose - because I like it - but it's just the wall thickness being too low.

The side wall crumbled allowing additional access to the yard.

The building on the back has two stories, but it's inconvenient to place models on the ground floor. The floor is cut from MDF and not printed.

Another view from above. Of course I notice jut now, that one of the columns is misaligned and Mr. Stormcast is floating above the abyss.

This was the maiden project on my new FDM and there were some teething problems as can be seen in some of the parts. Anyway it's good enough and being ancient, there is an allowance for dents and flaws.

New project.
Some old-fashioned SM models.
The Sponsons are magnetised. The complete hull is one part, the turret without cannons is one, each cannon is one and each sponson.

Modelled and printed some old Rhinos (Deimos). And used them to test colour shemes. The yellowish one is what I use right now, but it's a bit spotty. The whiteish one take the longest time and I would not want this method on infantry - too much work. The infantry model has no shadow line. The one in the middle is too brownish. Especially the infantry looks boring.

I'ver ordered some different primer, to try out. Hope there will be something more to my liking.

The Egyptian ruins look like they work great in WH40k and AoS. It's a clever way for them to go double-duty, if that's what you want. Very nice.

Problems over problems.
I'm told them to do 3 banner of excess.

That's what I've got.

My pronunciation seems to have been a little off.

Anyway I needed them, so I used them. Instead of doing separate models for the banner bearers I did little strips of acrylic glas with the banner on one end and the magnet at the other. They will attach to the magnet on any models base. The left most banner is attached to a base without model to show the principle.

I played the Hellhounds against an Orc mob. An average of 4 Melta shots for 120 points is nice against the low number high save armies. Times 9 is .... 36 Melta shots for 1080 points. Might even make Custodes stop to think. That's 12 wounds - ignoring the -1 to Hit bubble and the 4+ only wound stratagem. Still should be quite good.

I really like the work you have done here. There are a lot of nice, subtle touches (like the teddy bear aquila) that are excellent.

I also like that the lascannons end in lenses, rather than "holes, like a gun".

New project.

First test print of the main parts.

The rear part didn't print well and I aborted the print just before it was finished, because I thought it would already be failing. Of course it wasn't - at least not completely.

I love your Quad Guns but you don't have enough. You need at least 9, or even better 27 from the old DKoK Siege list that traded Fast Attack slots for extra Heavy Support.
