Nids have always interested me in the Fluff, because they only ever seem to be a problem for the Imperium or the Tau (Cain books) is there any fluff of the Nids or GSC Infiltrating and destroying Chaos held worlds or Drukari held worlds? I know there is fluff of them taking on Tau and Eldar, but I can't find anything written about them vs. Chaos or trying to take over any of the "spikier planets" . I just want to know how Chaos would deal with a Nid invasion, or if they even could? Or how they would fair against a GSC infiltration.

Thanks in advance!

In on of the Ynnari books
Spoiler:
there’s a craftworld which got isolated for a long time and ended up becoming a giant genestealer cult.

In general though more psychic races like Eldar and even Orks tend to be harder for genestealers to corrupt as they can sense the wrongness in the hybrids and tend to root them out.

Drukhari don’t have ‘worlds’ as such as they live in the webway and it’s bad for their health to stay too long outside it. The largely artificial breeding would also likely interfere with a genestealer reproduction cycle.

Genestealer cults on Chaos worlds has also been covered a few times. There was a short story set on a world in the EoT where everyone was chaos worshipers about a group living in a crashed ship who considered themselves loyal subjects of the Emperor defending themselves from the Chaos heretics but who ended up being a genestealer cult at the end of the story.

Eldar tend to be avoided as hosts because they don't reproduce enough for a GSC to properly grow. Craftworlders also maintain vast amounts of powerful psykers who would detect the Genestealer taint.

Orks and Kroot can become tainted but again both can sense when a member of their race is tainted, for Orks with their gestalt-psychic stuff and Kroot by their powerful senses.

There aren't a whole lot of Chaos worlds in the Materium mostly because it's hard to hold small amounts of territory when everyone tries to kill you. There is one famous instance of Nid's attacking the Iron Warriors fortress-world, Forgefane. The Iron Warriors hold out for months but eventually waves of burrowing creatures breach the walls and slaughter the inhabitants.

the problem is you'd have to write something about two different non-imperial factions, which happens in about .000001% of stories.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

So would Devestation of Baal be an accurate depiction of how a showdown between Chaos and Nids would go? Choas would lock down the Psychic link, and the daemons would slaughter the troops?

For that to happen the shadow in the warp would need to be negated, otherwise the psykers and daemons would lose all connection.

On a chaos held world in real space, or any non-imperial human world, then the gene stealer infestation would happen as described on an imperial world. I’m not actually sure if a chaos/ renegade world would even have more places for a cult to lurk. Imperial worlds are all known for their grubby undersides.

I believe the Drukhari only live on one world.

But I asked this question about GSC infecting not human species and it turns out that that the fluff is written so that humans make particularly good hosts for the GSC. Easily infected, breed quickly and efficiently, live in huge swarms, etc.

The official answer is that these other races can and have been infiltrated and infected, but that humans are much more vulnerable to it, due to the nature of thier lives, and lifecycle. Races with strong psychic traditions tend to spot the cult too early in the cycle, or otherwise detect the "wrongness" of the cultists and cull them. Eldar in general have a very slow mating cycle, or are reliant on non-sexual reproduction methods (ie cloning, etc) that screw with the cycle.

against chaos, they'd...be about as effective as normal, assuming a mainly human population. they'd just be seen as another chaos cult amongst a mass of chaos cults, same as many others. Chaos, being a group prone to backstabbing and Klingon Promotion, are just as paranoid as the Imperium about infiltrations, so its the cult would be about as effective. its just that thier arent that many chaos planets, at least before the current mess, and most of the older lore is written form a imperial point of view, so their are very few accounts of them doing so.

against deamons themselves....thats a total wash, deamons kinda break the GSC attack cycle.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Very old fluff has Genestealer Cults that are in turn corrupted by Chaos. It was possible to have a Genestealer Patriarch possessed by a Bloodtirster, for example. I suppose in that case it becomes a race between Chaos and Tyranids to see who ultimately gets to consume the hosts/host world.

And They Shall Not Fit Through Doors!!!

That sounds deadly and awesome.

You might enjoy reading the Spiral Dawn novel. Without going into any real spoilers, a chaos cult and a stealer cult end up fighting over a planet. IIRC, one of the abberants (possibly an abominant) that shows up seems to have maybe possibly had some of its extra mutations caused by exposure to Chaos.

Drukhari don't really "have" planets exactly. They mostly live in various cities in the webway (mainly Commorragh) because being in realspace makes their souls "leak" faster. Sort of like living in an especially hot environment with no shade, and the air conditioning (torture) is especially expensive when you're not in the middle of Commorragh's slave market.

That said, there are one or two incidents involving GSC in Commorragh. IIRC, a 'stealer cult got scooped up during a slave raid. The haemonculus covens captured one of the 'stealers (the patriarch?), and then proceeded to use its DNA to make some very stylish gene augmentations for their customers. However, everyone that purchases said augmentations has become curiously obsessed with a certain planet in the middle of nowhere. Probably just a coincidence though. ;D

Chaos doesn't really have a way to shut down the hive mind or anything. The shadow in the warp suppresses psychic activity in general, so daemons probably find fighting tyranid fleets draining (comparable to be in the general vicinity of a psychic null). We know form the 'nids vs daemons story in at least one of the 'nid books that they find each other kind of unsatisfying to face off against. Daemons mostly vanish when they die which means they're basically empty calories. Extensive corruption (especially of the nurgly variety) can render some biomass tained and unabsorbale. 'Nids, in turn, don't suffer "loudly" enough in the warp for daemons to take much sustenance from their (lack of) emotions. So the two generally don't have much reason to face off.

Chaos marines would presumably struggle to find much value in fighting 'nids for the heck of it for similar reasons, although someone like Huron who has established territory would presumably have an interest in preserving that territory.

Drukhkari don't really have to worry about 'nids attacking their homes because 'nids don't really have a great way into the webway (and the durkhari can use webway/dimension warping tech to lock away any hypothetical tyranid incursion. When they fight, it's generally because the drukhari think it sounds fun (like when they wanted to rib Iyanden about being pervy necromancers), because they want some fresh bugs for the arenas, or possibly because they don't want the bugs to eat their "crops." If your kabal has exclusive "hunting rights" to a given sector and uses that sector's population as a steady source of soul income, then you can understand why they might take steps to prevent said population from being wiped out.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

I feel like CSM/Orks/Druhkari all fall into the same rough categories of "Oi that's my stuff, stop eating it" or "Aw man look at those huge bugs, I wanna punch it".

There is in canon a GSC called Cult Tenebrous that gets stuck in the Garden of Nurgle, is corrupted, and is then let loose to spread Nurgle's blessings. I'd really like to see that get followed up on. Here's some fan concept art:
