Ever want to back something just because of the font they used?

Metal space soldiers, with optional prepainted ones in collectable packaging.

Spoiled for size

They have a very cool retro theme, but $40 for 8 dudes is a big ask!

True, I had misread that all. I'm half tempted but the price is a bit of a sticking point.

I do adore the cheesy sci fi retro theme though

Like I said I'm tempted by the fonts alone!

Love that Micronauts font.

It's getting tougher to find metal models under $4 per, so I'm not too put off by the price. Right now you're getting 11 models for $40 plus shipping, which is a pretty reasonable ask if you like the look.

I do, although I'm already wondering how they'll look painted up as inquisitorial storm troopers....

Can't remember where it was pointed out but someone said these are like the internal security troopers from the Paranoia RPG.

Oh my, I very rarely care for "oldhammer"/nostalgic retro minis, but these are fantastic. I'm seriously considering the 77 mini Astroguard Company pledge...

Wellp, I caved, backed for $215, plus an unpainted Colonel Ering. The Conscripts stretch goal should unlock once the creator wakes up lol

The padded suits match up nicely with the look of the plastic Squats, would make a great combined regiment!

Oh man, this is cool. And it looks like (though they aren't updating the @!#! page! Edit: Or I'm not reading #@#$! carefully - it does look current!) you get 11 Astroguards for $40, plus a free:

female Space Cadet
Man Hunter
Scouter Bot robot
Ensign Packman
Beefhead Elder

So it looks like maybe we're at 16 metal minis for $40. $2.50 a figure for metal dudes? That's pretty good. I'm just about certain I'm gonna back...

But mostly because I MUST HAVE one of those prepainted blister packs. OMG that's sooo cooool!

And the female Platoon Leader is a freebie for the higher-tier levels.

Starcom meets Micronauts with the trappings of Mego toys...nice vibe.

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

Wow, this really is a targeted shot at the nostalgia center of the brain. The style isn't really my thing, but that's the only saving grace for me. If I were 4-5 years older I'd be cracking out the credit cards asap. Very well done.

Last day on this one. $40 base gets you 17 minis, about $2.35 per. Not bad.

Backed for the base pledge and a few extra packs.

It's a solid deal, but the size breaks these for me. I'm probably a minority but I wish they were closer to vintage mini size than modern heroic size.

Also saw this (but too late to pick up a pledge) and was excited (but sad, see aforementioned note about missing out) to see their uniforms largely matched those of the Astroguard troopers

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/maggletminis/space-dwarfs-operation-army-28mm-miniatures

Kind of refreshing to see a KS where the team doesn't overpromise or over commit by taking on too much...

But then it also seemed like a big missed opportunity to not simply put up 'wave 2' and 'wave 3' etc pledges, both to gauge interest, raise more money, and to temper expectations as later waves ship later...

Sigh.
