Even though I don't play historicals, I have to admit, that's one hell of a zine! I wish there was something like that for games I play.
There's one thing that caught my interest. All (almost all?) these models seem to have such an incredibly goofy aesthetic. Is it some kind of a convention for historicals, to lessen the horror of the real fighting/suffering you recreate? All these soldiers have such cartoonish proportions, kindly and broad hobbit faces and badly oversized clothes which makes them look like they are from some Looney Tunes Miniature Wargame or Asterix&Obelix the Wargame.
The technology for casting models with realistic proportions and poses is there, for sure. So why the goofiness?

I got my copy from the newsagent, and very good it was too. I especially enjoyed Rick Preisty's retrospective and the way 40k kept cropping up. How about a regular 40k feature? It's hard to find unbiased writing and reviews on GW in any traditional media. Would publishing Open Play scenarios incur a lawyer's letter? It would certainly tip me over into subscribing rather than just picking it up when I like the free minis or the cover, if you featured a bit more sci-fi and fantasy.
Having said all that I understand you don't make it to 400 issues without a hardcore readership who want you to keep ploughing the historical furough semi-exclusively.
Anyway keep up the good work!

Seems like a decent magazine, but there doesn't appear to be a way to get physical copies in the US at a reasonable price.

Really enjoyed reading that, the articles by Rick Priestley and the Perrys are great.
Was also amusing to see the "miniature piracy is a crime" adverts taken out in the mag by the Games Workshop Intellectual Property Department.

Actually, there was - Barnes & Noble used to carry it. 394 was the last issue I saw there, though. It came with a free Warlord Samurai or Ashigaru sprue. Unfortunately, as with many things, you can’t count on B&N for magazines. Stuff is carried for a while, then disappears forever, or at least a long time. They stock a fair number of European plastic model mags as well. Same difficulties in getting them regularly. Likely distribution/covid issues. They ‘carried’ White Dwarf as well; same issues. In short, you can’t rely on them, but you might get lucky. Model mags are usually with the crafts mags there, and if they have it, White Dwarf and Wargames Illustrated were usually with the historical stuff.
