I am trying to finalize my list for ACO, and cant decide on the last few tweaks. Right now i used the last few pts, i filled out the large squad to 12 models, but I am not super thrilled with that.

Thoughts?

Do you have a 5th starweaver? And you can split the 12 man to 2 5man units, and load all the units up with more fusion and more caresses or embraces. And lower all squads to 5 man units. Drop a shadowseer, and put in a 6th star weaver.

I do have another Starweaver. That could work. I thought it might be useful to have one heavy hitting foot troupe in case i need to deal with something tough. Do you think the bikes are enough to do that heavy lifting?

Eye of Terror... I think

Can someone explain to me what the Death Jester's purpose is? Mine does absolutely nothing unless it has Cegroach Lament. Is it just to slow units down with Humbling Cruelty? Seems spendy if that is the case.

I would say another another 5 Skyweavers and the 12 man blob is not a good idea.

DJ is probably a little pricey for what he does, I agree. For me he is more of a utility unit rather than something that will do much killing. He can slow down a key unit, stop that scary overwatch on a shooty unit, hold an objective/table quarter for engage.

Any damage he does from shooting is just a bonus.

If I played Harlequins, the death jester is there to shut down overwatch.

Maybe.... drop 1 skyweaver to give more mellee weapon upgrades to the troupes

Embraces are good against terminators
Kisses against normal multi-wound models
Caress's against things like death guard.

Hard to say whats a good mix of mellee, hopefully its not need so won't matter.

The big squad is amazing. I like to play with a big squad of 12. It wrecks whatever it hits. Give them the auto 6" advance and double move an they can hide behind LoS blocking until you need to pounce.

Also makes you opponent have to be wary of your threat range

My friend had a 9 unit squad, it charged a helbrute, barely killed it, and then was wiped out by a malignant plague caster (with a plague skull).The other games the 9 man unit never ever did anything... other than get killed. This time the only diffference was they were webway portaled.... so 1cp for webway, and also 1cp for reroll charge on a 9. However a 6 man unit in a weaver saves 2cp, leaves points for fusion blasters and if they move even a little bit you are probably still going to be able to do something with them. So I advise against a 9man

It is a dice game, so anything can happen but I've had big squad absolutely destroy stuff- especially if they get rerolls to wound a d maybe even the +1 damage strat

Actually altered the list quite a bit since this post. I found the characters were not doing as much as i had hoped, so toned down on those, and wasn't a huge fan of the big squad on foot, so opted for more in boats.
