You're obviously not going to buy a terrain set JUST to photograph miniatures, but I noticed a D&L long wall and long floor makes a handy tray to move groups of miniatures around. Instead of repositioning several miniatures (especially after finding out you took a bad picture!), you just pick up the "tray" by the wall piece. I'm sure you can do this with movement trays as well.

That is a genius idea. I have some modular wall things in stl form that would do this well. To the slicer!
