From Tre on Facebook.

Well Folks, I have been agonizing over this long enough...... It is time for Red Box Games to change shape. To that end I am going to conducting a final sell off of Red Box Games figures. Through the end of the month of June I will be taking orders on everything in the Red Box Games store which will include some ( not all ) of the previously discontinued back catalog items as I have had a LOT of inquiries about several discontinued items in the recent months.
There are several reasons for this. Chief most being the past year was BRUTAL for Red Box Games. the cost of metal has increased dramatically and I did not make enough profits to reinvest in restocks of current catalog items. This is why the RBG store has been empty for so long. My eye sight has degraded rapidly over the past 2 years to the point now that is VERY difficult to see what I am doing and trying to work with glasses on has been impossible for me adjust to. So making new product to get the store going again has been off the table as well. And even if i were making new product I don't think I could afford to restock AND produce new product as well.
Shipping rates have been a nightmare as well. I have subsidized shipping costs as much as I have been able but the way things are going I do not anticipate being able to afford to do business as usual in the coming years.
Also the competition has never been more fierce. there are SO many great products on the market and so many new ways to deliver products to the existing and emerging markets.
All in all I just the time has come to make some big changes. So I will be adding several discontinued items back in to the RBG store over the next day or two for this big final sale and then ending July 1st the Red box games store will be closed down.
I will continue posting about miniatures and cool fantasy news items and the efforts of other small studios in the table top industry here on the Red Box Games facebook as I figure out what shape RBG is going to take going forward. But the entire current catalog is going into permanent retirement.
I WILL NOT be selling RBG to any other businesses. So if you want these items you will need to get them from me before the end of June.
Cheers Yall!
Tre'

His deteriorating eye sight is heartbreaking. I hope he’s able to get some functional glasses or some lasik or something.

It is. I have horrible eyesight and wear contacts when painting as glasses frustrate me as well. Though this could be him having far sightless where I have near sightless as I could paint without corrective lenses but I can only see like 2 foot in front me without them.

He really tried last year to get into 3d modeling and made some cools stuff he showed off but then the test prints looked horrible as he sculpted too shallow for printing and set it aside. It could be something that he tries out again but it does seam like the days of ordering physical models from RBG are coming to an end.

I hope he gets residuals or something for all of the Reaper minis based on his sculpts or conversions of his sculpts.

It's a real shame, hopefully he manages to get something sorted out for the future,

whether it's in digital sculpting (I saw his 3d stuff and it was pretty good, and just needed optimising for printing by exaggerating stuff, and that would just take a bunch of trial and error practice on a cheap resin printer)

or something else entirely

That's rough, hope he can find a way to continue doing what he loves (and is good at) in some other way in the future.

Will probably place a decent order soon then; made a Frostgrave warband out of his range and I really enjoy the style of his work, they paint up very nicely too.

Ow, that sucks, he has some really awesome sculpts, I got some Norse to use for Frostgrave a few years ago and they are super nice.

I hope he finds something related to do, he's a really talented guy.

This really is a bummer. Tre is a great guy, and I loved his KS projects. Hopefully he can get something rolling. Maybe even some laser eye surgery; I'd chip into a Go Fund Me campaign for that.

I don't believe you can correct near slight loss via surgery.

Never bought from them (wrong side of the Atlantic) but darn that's a huge shame to hear. He's got some very solid sculpting and very nice designs so its a shame to lose someone of such skill due to both financial and medical reasons!

Fingers crossed he might get into 3D printing or even sell his collection on to another casting firm - though I can appreciate that with what osunds like a stressful and emotional choice to close shop, he's likely not thinking about that right now. Plus there's a lot of considerations at coming to a good deal for sale etc...

Lasik advertises as being able to. Who knows if it actually does, or how expensive and successful it might be. Here's hoping.

I wonder if he will sell or license his current designs to Reaper. He works with them already, and they do enough quality metal models to make it a good fit. I hope he does something like that, because I don't want to drop a few grand to buy every model he has ever made next month. I'd like to spread that out a bit.

Oh no, his minis are so good. Guess I'll be making an order sooner rather then later.

Should have been more clear. I don't think you can use Lasik to fix near slightness loss due to just getting older as it's more of a brain thing then an eye thing. That's what I'm assuming is happening, he needs reading glasses now.

Heartbreaking, to ay the least.

Tre has been nothing but a rabbits foot for Miniatures. A stand up guy and one heck of a sculptor.

I as well hope his eyesight gets fixed.

Anticipation for June- I want some more of those figures!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Laser Surgery deals with bumpy bits on the lens of the eye, giving it a smoother surface, and reducing/eliminating your prescription. But age related reading glasses are more the muscles of the eye being knackered from a lifetime of reading and other fine detail focus they’re not properly evolved to deal with.

Anyone got a link to the guy’s store?

I believe he's started to put items up that have been unavailable for a while but I'm not really sure what he kept from the last master sculpt/mold purge from like 2 years ago.

Ahh I see what you mean. I hadn't been thinking of age as the issue... few people seem especially old to me anymore.
Clearly we need a Kickstarter for robotic eye muscles.

I could see this becoming me someday. My eyesight is exceptional at long-mid range (I can generally read signs way farther away than anyone I know), but I do use a head mounted magnifier for painting details.

Unfortunately my family also tends to get severe "shaky hands" as they age. My father wore weighted gloves to reduce it before he retired.

Hasn't set in for me yet, though, and I hope it never does.

A bunch of things have been added recently including the mounted goblin which I'm not sure I've ever seen (Tre had to get an image for it from a fan as he couldn't even find one).

fairly sure i have him, and he's the one of he wolf riders from the second ks (Red Box Games Dwarves, and Goblins, and Orcs Oh MY!!),

i seem to remember production glitched on them meaning a significant delay for pledges with them in
