Hi all,

Sorry new to here so if I have posted this incorrectly please let me know and I'll gladly adjust it.
I am looking for some advise on my Daemon engine heavy list for a 2k Iron warrior army, Have no issues using FW or converting items to fit into the list, any and all feedback is appreciated
Army is designed for LHS games and some casual style tournaments, really enjoy the fluff about the Iron Warriors so thought I'd have a go at creating an army and try to keep it more inline with their fluff

+ Flyer +
Heldrake [8 PL, 150pts]: Baleflamer, Mark of Slaanesh

++ Total: [101 PL, 10CP, 1,999pts] ++

The general idea:
Strong daemon engine threat moving up the board with the Lord Discordant and MoP, utilizing the buffs from both to boost the group, Decimators make good use of the Methodical Annihilation (MA) strat for shots, Unholy Vigor and the regen from LoD keeps this threat going strong, may consider swapping to Siege master for re-roll wounds of 1 but i do enjoy exploding 6's
Scorpius on the backline firing 3D3 non-los shots (neg2,dmg2) with selective re-roll on the number of shots via MA
Heldrake for taking EOAF or linebreaker and just to be an annoyance before they think about my main force
3 groups of cultists for bodies, backline objective holders and also useful with the Cannon Fodder Strat with my termis if they get close enough
Two 5man Termi squads with the Chaos Lord in Termi armor, likely to start in teleportarium for some mid game carnage, also useful to use MA on for dmg
Bikers were a last min addition, the list felt a little one direction so I thought a FA unit might be nice to have to secure or bully another side of the board early on, could also be used a screening for counter deepstrike

Concerns:
Unit sizes will or could be constrictive depending on how the table is laid out, but that goes with any engine/tank heavy army
Cultists may not be enough to hold down objectives, considering swapping for CSM units but then worried that lack of bodies may come into effect
List feels fast on turn 1-2 but could get outflanked 3-5 if I'm not careful and send too much up the board
Bikers might be a waste, maybe better to get a Rhino for shuffling Cultists up the board or using those points to bolster the current units?

Thanks all, glad to be part of this community

I don’t have many 9th Ed games but I did play a lot of 8th and they are similar. With this in mind take my criticism/ tips with a grain of salt.

The first thing I see as a big no is your warlord. You only got one Lord Discordant so he will be targeted so you’re losing your warlord and a buffer.

So I recommend that you make MoP the warlord.
Second, I would remove one forgefiend and your chaos lord for another lord discordant and another unit of cultists.

On a personal reference, I would remove the second forgefiend and probably take another heldrake.
Not sure if the enemy can walk over the heldrake in this Ed but they could not do that in 8th. A very good blocker!!

With this you will lose a bit from your WL trait in form of shooting and your Chaos lord’s re roll.
You will get a back up Lord Discordant if/ when the first dies and still have a WL. Another unit to screen and hold objects.
Hopefully some insight of things for you!!

Looks like a fun list.

Tazberry’s feedback is solid, especially regarding the 2nd Heldrake. He is right that your Disco Lord will usually get blown away on Turn 1. Although losing your warlord doesn’t hurt that much this edition so you might want to keep the Disco Lord as warlord. If he gets blown away on Turn 1 than so be it. But sometimes he will survive to reach the enemy.

I have found Chaos Bikers to be excellent midfield objective grabbers this edition so I encourage you to keep them.

If possible, consider changing each terminator’s free chain axe into a free lightning claw.

Thanks, I do like the bikers so they will stay

This list is kinda on hold at the moment as I ended up getting my World Eater army first, although i'm tempted to make it a custom scheme so any non-khorne specific looking models can be used for this army as well (bikers, heldrakes etc)
