So I decided on doing my SoB in Aethermatic Blue. Asked at my local GW what the closest paint would be for touch ups and went with it. Forgot it's name, but it was more of a highlight tint.

Anyone got some experience with this colour and knows the closest matchup to it? I don't want to do vehicles in just contrast paint really.

It's almost impossible to touch up contrasts, as they work by being somewhat transparent and showing through the basecoat.

This means that the colour at any point on the model depends on both the underlying basecoat and also the thickness of the contrast paint over it.

Maybe Gauss Blaster Green would be a good place to start, but you might need to make it more pale in some areas and darken it down with a darker turquoise in other areas.

EDIT: Actually Aethermatic Blue takes on a more bluish tint over grey or white. Gauss Blaster Green would probably be a good place to start if your basecoat was Wraithbone, because Aethermatic Blue looks more greenish over Wraithbone. If you're starting from grey or blue, maybe Baharroth Blue would be a better starting point.

Highlighting over contrast is def doable. Contrast can be used as "one coat and done" but can be also as simply base.

It's just question of finding colour you like for what you want. I for example find gorthor brown over wyldwood nice way of doing simple wood.

Yup, this.
contrast is kinda do it all in one go or look at a bad result. You need to mix paints for toutch ups.

It's cause I'm doing a two coat cover on them. Thing is, this stuff does stain. So doing a Rhino with big pannels will be a pain. So I was looking for something that might come in close. Baharroth currently is the highlight on them.

As mentioned above, Contrast paints look different over different undercoats so there isn't just one matching layer paint.

I painted my Warhammer Underworlds Lizardmen with Aethermatic blue over Wraithbone and used a mix of Baharroth blue, Blue Horror and Wraithbone for touching up and highlights.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.
