The image says it all really, this is a crowd funding campaign for a selection of fantastic 3D printable models for Numenera! It's a 23 day campaign conducted through My Mini Factory (prime 3D printing STL website) which I should note charges you when you pledge not at the end of the campaign. There's no physical element to this campaign (there is a link to the Numenera website for their rules for the models), it is a fully digital delivery of model STLs.

The team behind this are Draco Studios (Lair) who have done previous successful campaigns for a range of games including Dragons of the Red Moon, Legendary Dragons and two campaigns for armies for Battles of Valerna.

The campaign has a core tier at $25, all in at $40 and two addons consisting of one $10 Gargantuan pack ($5) for backers) and one surprise that will be revealed in a few days time at $15.

Core tier

More images and the big monsters addon ($5 for backers of the core; or as part of the all-in tier)

Watch this get almost no funding compared to the terrain-that-turned-into-world's-most-generic-fantasy-miniatures kickstarter

I wouldn't worry about that. - Focus on spreading the good word of Numenera!

That said STL campaigns will fund less than physical model campaigns because each customer only needs pay once in an STL campaign for each model. Meanwhile with physical product lines some people will order the same physical models many many times over because they want to own more than one. They can still command a good and respectful amount raised, but they target a different market and the 3D printer market is much much smaller as well.

Quite, and also STL campaigns ask for far less costs than actually producing the physical miniatures and ship them to various locations of the world. You just need to send the files by mail, basically.

Monsters are interesting for a SF setting RPG, I wish them luck !

Currently at $14,939.75

LAST 48 Hours!
A reminder this isn't like KS you get the files (for the core pack, core large pack - others are being made) as soon as you back as the money is taken right there and then. So there's no need to wait you can jump right in.

They've met a few community goals and they will unlock some new things (a livestream on FB already showed off one new model)
