EDIT (2021-06-07):

I still wasn’t happy about my paint job on the yellow marine. Yesterday I therefore did some more work on the mini. Now it finally looks OK, I guess.

What is our duty? To go to the forest and point at sunflowers in the name of The God-Emperor.

This looks incredible! How resistant is the terrain to wear and tear while playing? How do you store it?

Also thanks for showing some construction steps on your instagram.

Thank you very much!

I would say it is actually surprisingly resistant, perhaps because I added several layers of paint to many plants and flowers, used a lot of protective varnish and also sprayed most parts (especially the trees) with a lot of Woodland Scenics Spray-Tac (https://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/item/FS645). I actually had an Impulsor standing on it for 1 or 2 turns during a recent game of 40k. None of the plants or flowers got damaged...

I store it in this one: https://www.ikea.com/se/sv/p/detolf-vitrinskap-vit-80269122/

That is really great, as surely not every planet can be a grim industrial post apocalyptic hellscape, can they?

Naw, some worlds are still wild, many in fact. Usually because the local fauna/flora is particularly poisonous!

Here’s the finished Yellow Salamanders Space Marine (although the base is still not entirely finished):

Both figures and terrain are very well-done. Too bad about the terrain, as after the shooting starts goes through it will all be cinders and ash.

C'mon now - you know you can't conjure up that image without doing a mini diorama of it....

You never know, these are alien flowers! They might be so tough that bullets bounce off of them, and they eat plasma!

I mean, probably not but that would be a fun world.

UPDATE (2021-06-07):

I still wasn’t happy about my paint job on the yellow marine. Yesterday I therefore did some more work on the mini. Now it finally looks OK, I guess. I’ve replaced the old photos with the new ones in my initial post above.

Now I could have sworn I had replied to this thread.

But who knows. My brain ain't what it used to be...............................

Love it, love the flowers. Love the over-abundant base work. Sometimes it is amazing to be overwhelmed and in this case is the perfect time for such a thing. Yellow is such a strong and overwhelming color that to place it amidst such a strong base makes the whole package even better.

I suppose what I am trying to say is a busy base often detracts from the model (see belachor's new model, it is fantastic but it's too busy on the base and that clouds the model, which is superb in it's own right). But what you have done compliments and enhances rather than detracts.

That is absolutely excellent. Also, it gets extra props because. FIRST BORN FOREVER! DIE PRIMARIS! DIE!
