With the recent reveal for third edition that it is going to focus heavily of the realm of Ghur and by extension the forces of destruction I am wondering what people think/hope that this will lead to. Both in new and extended armies and lore.

We already got a preview video about a new army connected to swamps and mires. Most people think this is connected to the Fimir though it could be nearly anything. another new army that would be interesting would be wolf riding grots as seen with Rippa’s Snarlfangs.

With the focus on Ghur I think that this would be a good time to introduce the Kurnothi, especially with Sigmar's push into the realm as they could be a real in between force.

One thing from the forces of Destruction I think could be expanded upon is the Sun-eaters from the Ogor Mawtribes. Not only a new model but maybe new models or new rules to take entire tribes of sun-eaters.

What i really want is some more focus on orcs, ironjawz lore just makes em feel bland, and both factions really hurt for models compared to the likes of gloomspite. Number one wish would be a squiggoth for bonesplitterz, or maybe a flintstone car.

I would love for them to remove Beast of Chaos from Chaos and put them in Destruction as 'Beasts of Ghur'. Kragnos should be available to Beast armies. Also switch Daughters of Khaine out of Order into Chaos or Destruction they do not fit with Order.

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

The non-Chaos worshipping, non-Undead, empire building faction doesn't belong in the non-Chaos worshipping, non-Undead, empire building Grand Alliance?

Daughters of Khaine absolutely abhor chaos. They are definitely not nice folks, but are certainly firmly an order faction.

Beasts of Chaos lore also entirely focuses on them being creatures made from the magic of chaos. They are not shifting. Destruction faction doesn't have the monopoly on monsters and beasts.

Yeah, Order does not mean good guys, or even friendly to humans.

It basically just means opposed to Chaos, willing to fight alongside other Order factions to oppose it, and not aligned with Nagash.

Imagine old semi-medeivally type orcs coming back but they primarily use medeival seige weaponry stuff. Trebuchets to launch boyz behind enemy lines, massive war wagons to run gitz over, a seige tower to drop rocks off/amp up a weirdboy.

I want Fimir. :(

And if not Fimir I would love a Scythian/Hunnic/Mongol horde type destruction human army.

My problem with destruction is just that orcs are supposed to be the face, but the coked up grots have more stuff than them.

I feel like Night Goblins were a better realised and more popular faction than basic O&G for a good chunk of WHF too tbh...

But I dont know, maybe that's my own nostalgia glasses...

In my experience (before AoS) every goblin infantry unit was Night Goblins and had 3 Fanatics.

Rather than new Orkz faction, I would love a expanded Iron Jawz and Bonesplittaz faction.

Wyverns for Bonesplittas to ride, Ironjawz to get brutes who just LAUNCH giant throwing axes/ rock bolas/ spears with goblins tied too or something similarly brutal as a ranged option who can still duff things up in melee

Maybe a Nob option (between brute boss and Mega Boss) on a chariot option, or a big iron wagon filled with 'ard boyz to have a grindy option.

This would be GREAT!

Ye, I think they just toned down the sillyness of orcs to sell more gloomspite.

Partially. Its mostly that they gutted a single army list to split into two (well, one and two otherwise unrelated subfactions), and tossed out everything that didn't fit in either category.

A lot of classic, signature orc and goblin stuff is just _gone_. And for some reason they didn't add back in various forest goblin units that would've fit with gloomspite, and the 'orruks' are kinda boring versions of black orcs, with more kits but not much variety beyond weapon swaps. Savage orcs are just kind of sad, 5 datasheets but really just two kits (on boars and not on boars), with extra horrible CAD muscles for all.

I'm one of the sad gits who plays splitterz. plus it's weird looking at factions like seraphon or skaven, who kept like everything.

I want bunnies. Huge, adorable bunnies that horde up and wash over the Mortal Realms like a plague of locusts. And I want the faction to be called Nocturnite Lepusspawn.

A true force of nature type Destruction army.

I really would like to see more model support. Right now my choices are Ardboys which I do not like very much because they've got the pot-belly look of old GW orcs and I personally think it's terrible. The brutes are more on par with what I'd like to see in design, but they're not really effective as a battleline. We have one priest and one wizard, with almost no named characters which really sucks. Seeing something like "Mega Armored Squigs" as a behemoth unit would be awesome. We also have no ranged units at all which really hurts in the current iteration of the game. What, Orcs can't throw massive javelins or use heavy ballistae as weapons? There is a lot of cool stuff in the Bonesplitterz section, but again it comes down to aesthetics for me and I just hate mixing the two because they feel like completely different factions to me.

Some random thoughts for me:

1) Lizardmen/Dinosaurs as a destruction army

2) Minotaurs

3) Werewolves (Fimir would be fine, not exactly the same thing, but I'll deal with it!)

4) More random/fun/weird new army ideas.

...I'll be honest, I have four small armies already. I would totally have other small armies as well. One of the things I kinda dig about AoS is the idea that you really CAN just have a small gimmick army for a bunch of factions and it totally works for casual play.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind leaning into this more. Think Fyreslayers (or however they are spelled), low number of units, low model count, great lore, great style, super fun... That's my jam :-)
