It makes metallic paint literally oxidise.

Also will it work on chrome paint, does that actually have metallic pigments?

Under the couch

I have some, but haven't had a chance to do more than an initial experiment with it. Seems to work, but relies on you finding metallic paints with the right pigments (or just using the GSW range or was actually made for, presumably) ... My first test was on army painter plate metal, which oxidized white.

On that particular test, not really - the oxidation was very patchy, but I think that's going to be down to the particular pigment and the way the oxidiser is applied. Keen to try it on some gold or copper paint, though.
