I remember a discussion on here about how the first 6th Ed. Dwarf book was unwinnable. Same people laud the destructive "always" winning power of a 5 man Knight unit. Neither of those things were true in this game.

Charging headfirst into Unbreakable units seems to have sealed the deal. Perhaps not the best of ideas.

Figured I could do enough damage to sweep them, and to be honest I forgot they were Unbreakable.

You didn't roll too well, so that didn't help.
For such occasions, I think having chaff at hand like Hounds or Furies is very handy. Often crucial to roadblock or redirect combats better.
Chariots are also some of my favorite to roll over annoying little units.

They were all huddled around the objective, and sitting back a turn would only have gotten almost the entire Dwarf army within reach. I had no choice but to deal with them head on.
Chaff does no good if he has no reason to charge and no Frenzy to force him to.
I should have taken some Dogs Of War shooting stuff...

What Dogs of War shooting would you take do you think? A cannon?
Maybe the Furies could have been good for ensuring a Flank/Rear attack from a Fear Causing Unit in the midfight?
I also would have brought them against Dwarfs just because I'd be expecting War Machines but of course he didn't bring those and you knew he wouldn't so IDK...
Maybe Screamers? Which could have done a "slashing" attack over units camping on the objective (simultaneously granting them flanking field position) to soften the objective before a Knights charge?
I am very new to Chaos so just spitballing

A cannon at most will kill 5 models if you line up the shot perfectly. It also will at most do D3 wounds to a multi wound model. Not worth the points in my opinion. I'd take either Crossbowmen or Halfling Archers.
Furies might be a good idea, I'd have to go find some, though.
Bear in mind that, again, I don't like mixing the lists. The only reason I ran the Giant is because I didn't have enough Mortal units to make a whole army. I can always model DOW to fit the Mortal list, just like I can whip up a unit of Ungor Crossbowmen for my Beasts army.
I tend to play with the limitations the list has, and cross book lists tend to bypass those. Self imposed handicap, I know, but that's the way I play.

A slight necro bump, but with the site being redone I figured it was time to post the new link.
