Subject: How how would Daemon Primarchs react to one of them getting permanently killed?

Basically assume that let's say Mortarion attacks Guilliman, and Guilliman using the Emperor's sword permanently kills Mortarion. News of this reach the other Daemon Primarchs. How do they react?
And how much would the reaction of the other Daemon Primarchs depend on the Daemon Primarch killed?

The demon primarchs seem to be rather narcissistic, or expect they would only seek revenge if it was a useful excuse for something.
I mean when Horus died they just retreated

I really don't think they would care at all.

I mean they all hate each other anyway. The one that would actually be sad in any way would probably be Guilliman because killing your bro, even a Chaos serving traitor, is a hard thing to do.

So they wouldn't get any sort of illumination that if one of them were able to be killed, then all of them are now vulnerable and act in englightened self interest with each other and ally against Guilliman?

Maybe if the ultramarines got into eye space, went to mortarion’s planet and killed him there they might feel anxious that the gods had not protected him

Nah, first they'd laugh at Mortarion then just get back to business as usual. It's not like they aren't all trying trying kill Guilliman anyway. You have to remember the egos of the Primarchs are colossal in a way that is very difficult to quantify. If one was to get killed by Guilliman the rest would be a bit worried but more just see whoever died as a pathetic weakling.

No, Chaos is super self-destructive which is somewhat the point of it.

I think they would indeed consider their defeated brother a fool but I still think they would be wary in the future. Depends a bit on who it is though, Magnus, Morty and Perturabo might be proud like all of them but they ain't fools, if something is powerful enough to knock one of them down for good they'll take notice and plan accordingly. Fulgrim is probably to full of himself to care, Angron is too angry at this point and Lorgar already got beat up once by a brother so he might be wary regardless.
