[Hyperbole] GW could keep 9th BRB rules in place, but calls it 10th. Sisters mark the end of an edition. Thats a more inviolate rule than no female Astartes. I wanna say GW realizes they've written themselves into a literal corner here with the Power creep. Unless knights are mini-titans aka T9 40 wounds,, their codex won't be worth the paper it's written on with the power keep currently. Like, what is the use of a giant walker model if the Ad Mech can drop it on Turn 1?

Could you see GW saying Covid has destroyed the profits we made last year, we are calling 9th a wash?

9th hasn't even started properly, there's no way 10th is "on its way"

Sisters ended what? An edition? Maybe two? Lol

No, I think we’re good for at least a year to 18 months more. There’s still a pretty huge chunk of books left to release for 9th.

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

Psiensis on the "good old days":
"Kids these days...
... I invented the 6th Ed meta back in 3rd ed.
Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..."

So if you look at the release dates, Sisters codex has come 2-3 months prior to the end of almost every iteration of 40k. This might be a new trend. If Sisters are no longer the harbinger of the end of editions, what faction will be?

My guess is Tau. They are the least represented faction in the fluff, they have a small albeit dedicated player base, but almost zero tournament placings.

What are you talking about? You mean the TWO whole codexes that Sisters of Battle have now had since... checks notes 2nd edition?

Why would GW call 9th edition a wash? All of their profits are up and they're struggling to produce enough product as it is. Covid hasn't destroyed anything, if anything it's made the hobby more popular than ever.

Fez was making a joke y'all- that's why he started with the [Hyperbole] indicator.

It is the first time in History a Sisters dex has dropped this early in an edition. As a player whose primary army is Sisters, and who has been itching for my bespoke Crusade content, I am so happy we weren't the last dex this time around.

For what it's worth, I'm still hanging on to the hope that this will be a persistent edition. Eighth was rumoured to be, but with Crusade, Mission Packs, and the metawatch, I think 9th is better positioned to do it than 8th ever was.

It's still a longshot, I'll concede, but it is possible.

Thank you Jake, for actually getting that. It's been a running joke since 2017 that Sisters toll the bell of the end of an edition.

I think GW closed that door (Persistent editions) when they outright refused to do digital codexes. Broken App, or paper. That's it. Also their day 1 erratas for almost every book this edition. What was the model that got priced at 240 points? Wasn't that a Drukhari model? I'm saying their inability to as of yet throw a perfect game, aka a glaring mistake free codex, is getting in the way of a "persistent edition"

That was my Paragons for the Sisters release- their unit size is fixed at 3, so we all know that 240 is the unit price, but of course the RAW crowd will probably insist on folks using 720 point units until it's FAQed.

Knowing GW 10th is likely in its early stages of development right now.

Point of order - hyperbole =/= joke. There are plenty of serious and hyperbolic posts on here.

I don't think we've had sufficient iterations of the Sisters codexes yet to form enough of a pattern here for the joke to work.

Moving on.
