The 34th Round of the League of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain Contest has come to a close, and I’m pleased to present FIVE excellent entries. The theme this time around was “Dangerous Terrain” (check out the contest thread
here), and the requirement was that entrants build terrain not just meant to deter you, but hurt you for trying. These five Riveters have done just that. In no particular order, here are the entries:
Captain Brown's scatter terrain - will the sharp edges or the Tetanus get you?
MacPhail's diorama and utility shelf. Is the crumbling cliff-side trail the dangerous terrain, or is it the surface of his workbench, where models have been crushed in the past? (Models shown for scale only)
endtransmission's 15 pieces of track... plus the crater to swap out if it gets blown up - dangerous for any future train attempting to make the crossing. (Seen here set in his existing graveyard table that show Special Forces trying to stop the clowns from playing on the railroad and blowing it up. They aren't doing a great job of it as the whole thing goes BOOM!)
JoshInJapan' Cannibal House - a two-level abandoned building/haunted mansion with removable upper storey that slots into the lower level.
DJJazzyJeff's Roadside Convenience, a nod to the book, Roadside Picnic, that was the basis/inspiration for the game, Zona Alpha. Complete with removable roof. (An unpainted Mr. Spock - a 32mm figure - makes an appearance for scale purposes only)
The poll will remain open for 10 days, and I'll announce the winner of the "People's Choice" award alongside the contest winner. Thanks to all of the entrants and to all of the voters!
