First game of 9th, and first game in over 2 years. Just a friendly, casual game with an old friend, aiming more for some good krumpin than anything really planned out.

My opponent brought an all primaris list, a rebirth of sorts of his original space wolves army. Yes, this was a classic clash between the wolves and the orks. His army had hellblasters, eradicators, assault intercessors, heavy intercessors, incursors, a primaris chaplain, and the mighty Arjac Rockfist. My force consisted of a "toyz before boyz" tin 'eads list, with only 32 boyz (20 choppa, 12 shoota), 3 kans, a deff dread, meganobz, nobz, stormboyz, a mek with force field, and a beefed up warboss with da biggest boss, brutal but kunnin, and da killa klaw.

To make our clash even more exciting, we were using the champion rules to buff Arjac and my boss up to Ghazghkull levels of damage output. My warboss had a devastating 7, S14, -3, 4 damage attacks.

We were fighting over 3 objectives in the middle of the map, but ultimately we were going for a "kill everything that moves" game. We stacked the frontline of our deployment zones, hoping to get into melee as quickly as possible, with everything on the board except Arjac and my stormboyz.

The first turn is what you'd expect: some devastating fire from the wolves, slightly mitigated by cover, and my army advancing up the board, with the stormboyz dropping in his backline out of sight. Immediately the meganobz and deff dread fell, but only a handful of boyz were lost. My warboss rolled low on his advance, so he was falling a bit behind the 20 boy squad.

Turn 2, my opponent took that opportunity to drop Arjac near my warboss, and succeeded on his charge. The clash of the titans. Even with 6 wounds (potential 18 damage!), my warboss passed 4 of his invulns and narrowly survived. All 7 of his attacks wounded, and Arjac only saved 4.... a massive 12 damage! My army continued to move up the board, my nobz (all wielding big choppas) crushed a unit of incursors, my boyz were nearly in range of his frontline, my kans got a few lucky rockets off, and continued their forward push.

Turn 3 is where the brutality started. Assault intercessors wiped my nobz, my warboss wiped the intercessors, the boyz were down to 5 models but got stuck in with the eradicators, the chaplain intervened in that combat, the stormboyz got stuck in with the hellblasters, my remaining kan got in with more incursors. Unfortunately, I had to go first with my warboss as the intercessors would have easily killed him, so my opponent was able to interrupt and devastate the stormboyz. The kan surprisingly got 3 kills as well.

My opponent decided the glory move would be to charge into my warboss with everything. Eradicators, chaplain, a few remaining incursors. The chaplain finally killed him, but he took the eradicators with him in his last glorious stand. Truly, while brutal, he was kunnin enough to save the kan from certain melta doom. Unfortunately that was almost my whole army. The shoota boyz, who had been holding an objective and firing into the heavy intercessors, made an attempt to charge them but failed it and were brutally gunned down. The kan died to the remaining hellblasters.

And so was born the legend of the only warboss that could rival Ghazghkull, who killed over 5 times his point value.

Awesome little report and awesome warboss. Sounds like you had a lot of fun, which in my opinion is the best way to play 40k .
